SECTIONF8 Sabre released !

Can anyone tell me why on landing my wheels sink into runway no matter how soft I land? Lee
Yes I can tell you why !
Bad contact points :adoration:
Are you a "aircraft foot fetish" ?

Is this reproduceable in many different sceneries? At many different airports?
I'm hesitant to call it a contact-point issue... I was on the beta-team for that aircraft - and I assure you, that was something I looked at.
Where airport elevations have been changed in an addon scenery, the runway is sometimes elevated by as much as .1 meter above the ground surface (when I'm tweaking scenery, I use .01m as that does the trick with much less disruption - but I've seen it done with a greater differential before...) - this is done to prevent a nasty but somewhat uncommon bug wherein the ground will bleed through the runway even though it really hasn't any good reason to do so. This can, however, mean that wheels can look slightly sunken through no fault of their own.

F-86

Thanks for your help, is there any thing I can do to the F-86 to stop the wheels from digging in? I have tried several Air Ports and all dig in> Lee

What a shame the best 'Sabre' of the entire litter never made it.
The screen shots show it to be almost correct, aside from the 3" deeper intake there are numerous vents, grilles and even the shorter rear fuselage section as per the real deal
And, the overall 'aluminum dope' finish looks excellent.
I doubt we will ever see the proposed variations at all, it does say 'On behalf of the SectionF8 Team, Best Wishes for 2009 !', only six years ago ........... :banghead:

There are some interesting texture sets (including the CAC variant), which can be found here.
Check earlier in this thread for the '6-3' wing beta.

Yes. As mentioned above, it's the contact points. You just need to make the contact points for each wheel a bit lower than they are now.

It's a simple but possibly tedious job by trial and error. Or maybe someone who has already done the work (I have not) will post their contact points here.

I suspect in regards to contact points that the difference that occurs between the validity of contact points on various peoples systems is due to mesh settings. I know on my machine that it was tested with terrain mesh detail set at 70% and TMVL set at 21. On my machine, with those settings, the contact points as published were correct. You may notice from the posted screenshots that the contact points on Javis' machine were correct as well...
It may be that the beta-team simply didn't have enough diversity in our settings.
Or - it could be one of those annoying things about FS that no one will ever figure out. I can think of no KNOWN reason for contact points to work differently for different people... those things I've mentioned above are simply ideas with no connection proven... but it is known that contact points valid for one machine are not always valid for another.
At any rate, the contact points were something that I checked when the plane was being tested - so from this end, I frankly don't know what's going on for you.

Thanks to all for all the help, I now no longer dig into the runway. I changed my contact points from 6.18 to 9.18 I now land my F86 as smooth as I did my Cessna 150 when a young man. Lee

The blue-nosed FU-537 is possibly Zsolt's own donationware. You need to PM him if you want it.

The one in my screenshot is the 'hard (6-3) wing' beta (notice the wing fences) - and that's the default scheme (Canadair Sabre Mk.4 XD799 'A', 92 Squadron, RAF Linton-on-Ouse, 1955).

That's not one of Zolt's paints, he was quoting one of Javis's posts.
It looks like this paint was never released. I've searched for it at all
the big sites with no luck. I guess the only way to find out is to PM
Javis.

No my job!

Section F8 Sabre.

Is this a native FSX Sabre?
Tried to find it at Avsim but no luck.
I tried 'sf86ef.zip' But the request comes
up with nothing.
