Skysim Mirage 3 out!

Mark Harper has issued an update to his Mirage III/5 package. In addition to correcting a couple cockpit gauge
items (GSI and VSI) the update includes two additional "bonus re-paint models" (external models for early and
late model Mirage IIIRS repaints), two new textures for existing versions, reworked control surface animations,
additional weapons, revised sound cone config file, and simplified installation (no more perceived looping).

The installer will make you uninstall the previous version at one point before continuing so save yourself
some time better spent oogling and flying by doing so beforehand. There are a couple differently packaged
versions (exactly the same once you launch them) for IE and Firefox browsers (dealing with Firefox download
issues) but from my tests the IE version is working fine for both.
:ernae:

There's a problem with the update's reinstallation package.
The validation sequence asks for a four-digit code that, as a paypal payer, I was never supplied with.
I have asked Flight1, but I dare say they'll deny all responsibility.

Looks like I'm stuck with the original package.

Hi Dave,
That seems very strange. If you have the key file to enter when you purchased it the code would also be in the same email. PM me or email and I can resolve this.
Regards

Another point is why would Flight1 deny responsibility? They take the money and issue you with the key!
If you have problems with it I can issue keys etc but the standard format Email will give you all the details regardless of payment method.
Besides the best place I would have thought to resolve this would have been on the product support forum rather than a general forum. Do they know about your problem? Did you post and get no responce? I would suggest trying the store forum first before casting comments about lack of support.

Flight1 also has a web-based utility on their site for retrieving lost passwords (that 4-digit number you're talking about). All you have to do is use it, and it'll fire an email off to you with the info in question.

This may be a dumb question, but where do I download the update?

I logged onto my skysim account, but I don't see an update file. Do I need to re-download the full package to get the update?

Thanks for your help

Hi,
I finally got my hands on the updated Mirage, and first of all I must say I'm very grateful for the new models and loadout!

The new JL100 combo matra rocket pod/fuel tank (which was much used by the SAAF in the real world) will NOT work with my SAAF repaints due to the new texture mapping. That is the bad news...the good news is that I'm updating my textures with the new texture mapping!

I will also include several other updated textures. My repaints are "constant" work in progress, even after release, due to the fact that new pics and other reference sources become available and I can improve the repaints. The JL100 texture issue is a perfect reason for making the other updated textures available.

French addict to Mirage

Hi there, I read somewhere a few days ago that no "native land" simmer showed up on this forum!
Here I am! I am the one who posted some videos of the Skysim Mirage on Youtube (mirageIII2009)...
I am also building a mirage cockpit to be able to use any Mirage (or some other aircrafts) propely using FS9 and X... here is the link to see the pictures : http://www.checksix-forums.com/showthread.php?t=149390

It is a french forum but the pictures dont require any long explanations!
Cheers!

Glad to see some French like the product. It was an exceptional aircraft for it's time and goes down in history as a truly great bird and credit to Dassault and the team for developing a remarkable aircraft from a long and prestigious line of designs. Truly a military aviation great and it has been my pleasure to work on this project and learn more about this iconic aircraft

Does this plane have any problems with vapor trails off the wingtips in level flight? I saw some screenshots on another forum where that seemed to be the case as they were in nearly every image, which I first thought must be due to flight modeling problems as I've seen that issue with the Alphasim F-104.

On the AS F-104 for example you pretty much have wingtip vapors all the time in level flight, unless going extremely fast and level, and the Captain Sim and Cloud9 F-104's did not have that issue.

I don't really see any shots here with the vapors in level flight, so perhaps it FM is OK?

Thank you for posting that link. That is incredible work to say the least!

Thank you very much, and there is still a lot of work to do!!!!!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your Control Stick Components from? They look very nice! Also, how do you like the new Mirage? I am a huge fan of Dassault Aircrafts and the Mirage line of fighters.
Even with the newer Rafale and Mirage 2000 series I still like the original III/5 versions. They are classics! This model has turned out to be one of the finest FS models I have bought and used so far. Excellent in so many ways!

Hello safranek ! I hit this forum and read that no french simmer posted about the Skysim Mirage! I couldn't let this said without replying ! I think I was the first to post a video on Youtube to advertise for the Skysim Mirage

I like this forum very much; found many useful information already!

to deathfromafar : Thank you for your nice comments; The "joystick" (I prefer to call it "Flight Control stick") comes from a very small company based in France called Tarmac Aces (http://www.valiant-studio.eu/tarmac/html/index.php)
The stick is the perfect replica of the SAMM which are in the Mirage (III, IV, F1), Alphajet, and Jaguar. It is very beautiful and of course fully fonctional. My SAMM is connected to a universal mecanical base which is sophisticated enough and quite tough. Together, the system is around 900 euros but it is a good investment for any serious simmer. You'll find more information in their website (in english too).
Cheers!
