To keep the flame burning...
Near the town of Cheltenham you 'll find the small grass airfield of Stoke Orchard wedged between the main road and a railway line. With a varied career ranging from 1941 to the late forties Stoke Orchard was the home of No.10 Elementary Flying Training School, No.3 Glider Training School, Mosquito's, night flying Hurri's, the Norwegians of the training camp "Little Norway" when it was moved from Canada to the UK and many, many others.
Circling the airfield you 'll notice that is is still under construction but the layout is already becoming visible. Many buildings are already erected but many more need to be built.
When you climb the water tower you get a good view of the Watch Office and hangar area and when you look east, you 'll notice that the living quarters are already there but the barracks are still waiting for their cement rendering and green camo paint.
