Tailwind Released!

ChaCha,

Let me try to explain. In installing a repaint addon;
* Drop the texture folder into your aircraft folder that it was made for. (Make sure the paint scheme is for the W8 or W10. You can find this out in the ReadMe, which is opened with the Windows Text Editor. Just click on the TXT file (ReadMe or Installation) and it should open for you to read).
* Next, copy/paste the Registry block and paste that into your 'Aircraft.cfg' file in that aircrafts folder. To open the 'Aircraft.cfg' file, right click on it and select Open With, then select Windows Notepad. Open it up and paste the new Registry on the bottom of the Registry entrys, so the new one is last.
* Make sure the Registry is the 'last number' in the series, such as [fltsim.9] or [fltsim.23] and that the second line also in that registry block isnt also the same as another.
* Save and exit. Boot up FS to see if it shows up.

Done..

Always look for the ReadMe instructions in repaints.

It is possible to add a repaint without ReadMe's if you know how the Registry Blocks work. You can always copy/paste a Registry Block and change it to work with a new Registry.

Here's a quick glance at a typical Registry block in the Tailwind;

*EDIT: The line '[fltsim.2] below should have 'must be at last number in order: important...

[fltsim.2] <<Must be last number in order; Important
title=Tailwind W8 03 <<< Must be different from rest
sim=Tailwind_W8
model=Skirts <<< This tells which model to use, (this plane has a skirts model).
panel=
sound=
texture=G-BGBD <<< This is the name of the texture folder you're installing
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=G-BGBD <<<New N-Number Registry
ui_manufacturer=Tailwind
ui_type="W8" <<<Model Type
ui_variation="G-BGBD" <<< Give the repaint a name to find it by in FS
prop_anim_ratio=1.03
ui_thumbnailfile=G-BGBD.jpg <<<For seperate JPG's in FSX if not in Texture folder
description="blah blah blah"

And thats how its done. :d

Easy peasy...

Hey Raptor,

Version 1.3 was launched about 2 hours ago. Modifications were;
* Airfiles updated from experimentals (Mark III's)
* Suction gauge now functioning in both FSX and FS9 models

Its a mild update, but I think for some, the airfiles was a huge improvement.

To tell which version you have, go into your aircraft.cfg file and look at the top. 3rd row down, it should say Build 1.2. If you installed the early Mark III airfiles, then it will say 1.3. If you havent updated since Tuesday, then you have the official 1.2 Build series.

The only difference with the Build 1.3 airfiles is the Vacuum section in the Air files, which allows the suction gauges to function now. Mark III's didnt have this. So its up to you if you wish to redownload the entire package.

Remember, for those of you that have the repaints, to save the aircraft.cfg files somewhere so you can copy/paste in the new Registry blocks for the repaints.
