Tailwind Released!

Bill,

My default flight is the stock C172, G1000, with a cold and dark panel. This came up on another panel some time ago. I set up a key stroke to switch the generator/alternator - Ctr-G in the controls config. That worked. I think there was a setting in aircraft.cfg that would also in effect set the generator to always on - I even remember which airplane - not one of yours.

Glenn

There is an alternator switch on both the 2d and VC panels. Why not use it? ;)

For those with wide-screen monitors...

Edit the aircraft.cfg files and add "ws" (without quotes) to every panel= entry:

panel=ws

Bill...not sure if this helps troubleshoot, but I'm running Vista 64 with DX10 Preview enabled, and here's the result on all the paints. Looks like the horizontal/vertical stabs are good, but the reast of the body is not. Note the cockpit seems to work, except for the three toggle switches beside the mixture and the key.

Let me know if I can help in any way. She sure runs good! :applause:

Thanks Moore for the report.

What in the world is 64 doing to FSX models?

Ok, Im on it.. :isadizzy:

I should add that I don't see the same issues with the Kodiak and Epic. BTW...the Epic is probably my all time favorite FSX plane! Can't thank you enough for that one! :ernae:

Thanks,
Matt

I am compiling the newest installer and will make sure all components are in there. Bare with me as I get things all rebuilt.
Just ought to mention that the folders are not present in the FS9 install either... hope it isn't too late!

Where? Is it combined with the battery switch? I can find no switch lablled "alternator" or "generator," although I know on some systems the switches are combined...

Now a tailwind in matching yellow scheme to the kodiak would be nice. Lots of great piccies so far:applause::applause::applause:.

Hi - truly great product Bill :applause:

Has the SimMarket version been updated?

Updates out

Hey Guys,

Update time. This is a major update now, Build 1.1.

If you purchased the Tailwind through SimMarket, please give them a while before requesting another download. Make sure (at SimMarket) that the Tailwind webpage has 'Build 1.1' on it.

These are the updates carried out;

Seperated all base textures from 'changing textures' to insure and force color changes when selecting through various Tailwind variants
This means you will need to have all 9 of the forced textures in each repaint.

Tach in Tailwind W10 was found to be in the negatives in coordinate location. This might be what was causing frame rate issues and CTD's. This is rectified.

A last min. Edit on Build 1.0 (first launch) caused the Retro in FSX to not show up. This is rectified.

Slight color tint in black leather seats removed and now pure black.

The Texture directory structure of the FSX Tailwinds was modified. There are no longer any base fuselage or cabin textures in the main texture pool (texture folder) in each of the Tailwind main folders. This was also changed for those that wish to experiment with the Specular and Bump mapping with custom paint schemes.

Adjustments to lighting 'type' (self illumination: multiply blend) set to fuselage and wings for DirectX 10 / light blume when in night flights; (cancels out glowing effect with 64bit light blume at night).

That should get rid of alot of the bugs that anyone may have been having. (I hope and pray). :d
