The Grizz is out!!

Thank you Milton and Team!!! Like Peteham just said "It's a totally radical ride"!!!

This is an outstanding mode inside and out!

Is anyone else having a deep frame rate hit in the VC? Mine drop to 4-6FPS in VC mode and 10FPS in the 2D mode. Outside FPS is normal. If I set my view about the cockpit over the dash with the gauges out of view, the FPS goes up to 12-16 FPS.

Hey deathfromafar!

I experience none of the problems you mention! But Milton himself said in a previous post that some of the xml gauges will be changed in the near future. maybe that is the cause?

But again, none of those problems on my rig!

Yeah, that could be the issue, Is rare to have a VC drag like this on FPS. I have many highly detailed VC models in use with on a couple here & there that cause an issue. I can say it is worse when the gauges & cockpit detail are in view. Looking out above the dashboard or out the side the frame rates are normal.

Milton & Team "what a beauty!" seriously this thing is a keeper and what a birthday treat too... 1020GMT and i am booting FS again... go strafe some boats:jump::ernae:

WOW! Beautiful! Thank you Milton for yet another masterpiece.

no issues with FPS with my install; zero impact actually; smooth as silk.

Thanks, Milton & Grizzly team! Fantastic airplane you have built. Looks good next to that other gunship too!

Hey, great screenshots guys :ernae:

I hope you enjoy the Grizzly. :wiggle:

I just uploaded the Paint Kit for those who were asking:

http://www.flightsimonline.com/xa38/pktb38.zip

And I have updated the website as well for future support.

http://www.flightsimonline.com/xa38/

It is still a WIP.

We will likely release one more "hardened" version for the field guys who want something a little extra.

@Roger, good to hear she ports over easily to FSX, dx9. Thanks for that info. :)

@Deathfromafar ... if you can provide more info, I'll try to help. My 7-year year system runs the Grizzly fine in all modes. My guess is that either the texture format mix is affecting you or the shear volume of memory demands. The panel bmps have not been compressed yet to 8-bit and that may help you. I'll try to email them to you. EDIT: Emailed the 8-bit bmps to you for the panel folder.
Also, I just compared my FPS and they are actually a little better than with the A26B VC. Can you compare the same?

Milton,....for some reason I can't make an audio 'connection' with the ground control tower. Or visa-versa. Is there something I have to do at my end to activate this feature?

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, thanks Milton and Crew!!!

another sim-pilot who shares the birthday of the Red Baron with me, yay! i no longer feel alone, many happy returns...

on another note just been toying with the paintkit and came up with this idea...(clue is look on the nose)

Thank you Milton and Team. You have brought what seemed doomed to be just a footnote in aviation history back to vibrant life. I have noticed what seem to be two very minor discrepancies in the panel captions. There are two captions referring to "Gun Site" will these be changed to Gun Sight? Also on the fire warning captions both sides refer to Engine 1

A note: I did a lot of the flight test in FSX and the plane is specifically not waranteed by the manufacturer for such use, but it does seem to work pretty well there with the ususal issues with prop textures etc. So you could port it over, just do not complain about it being a port over.....

Cheers: T.

I will add that to the list ... there are a few others as well. Thanks. :)

Hi Brad,

I am not into the ATC traffic ... I usually just talk to myself when modeling. :isadizzy: But I do recall someone mentioning this during the beta. I'll see what I can find, and maybe someone else will step up here while I look for an answer.

Thanks PRB :)
That screenie shows just how big the Grizzly really is. Deceivingly large with a typical flight weight of 30-34000 lbs.
