The Mallard is here, The Mallard is here!!

Christmas gift indeed! The screenshots look amazing. Downloaded now -- can't wait to fly it this weekend :)

Fonts Folder

This is a real Christmas present. It is just fantastic. The only question I have is item 4 on the installation page. I could not find a 'Fonts' folder.

The plane appears to have loaded correctly. I haven't tried to fly it yet. Still reading the manual...grin.

Thanks for a great plane.

OOOPS! That instruction may have been left in when the manual was copied from the Ryan Navion version. The Mallard doesn't have a 'Fonts' folder so ignore that step.

Glad to see someone is! :applause:

Thanks for a great plane.

We had fun building it and hope everyone has just as much fun flying it.

It's a beaut and I hate to be the dummy on Xmas day but. When it opens I get the big yellow triangle about being overweight and try to alleviate that by pumping the bilges but no lights on any tank. The parking brake is set to system which, I think means off with toe brakes active. Opening the throttle feels like I'm towing another Mallard and I haven't made it airborne yet. Help an old man :santahat:.

See "Post #15" above!

Thanks

Thanks for a real beauty. It's like payware!

Is there any easy way to add the simicons to the VC to bring up the sub panels without having to use the View menu or the keyboard? I have made a sub panel, visible in all views, that adds the icons.

Thanks, Bob.

I've been installing some of the portovers and native conversions of Milton's outstanding work this week, so this is perfect timing... especially as I love flying boats! :biggrin-new:

Off to give her a spin now, thanks a lot Milton and LDR Group. :applause:

Thanks Adrian; The LDR team surely did the Mallard proud, eh? They exceeded my expectations for sure. Yea LDR team! :applause:

I'd like to know which Mallard fx file generates this streaming water off the hull on takeoff (see attached), this is a really nice effect and I'd like to use it on my other seaplanes.

Unfortunately you would also need to add an entry to the panel.cfg file and some custom code to the panel folder but at the moment the code is part of a larger logic gauge within the gauge .CAB file and not readily accessible. The code makes sure the transom water drop only shows up when you have left the water and not taken off from land.

I will have to see if there is a way to make the code a stand-alone block so that it can be used easily on other aircraft.

Thank you very much for this nice model!

Here's a very early attempt at smearing some paint on it, still lots and lots to do..

Larry, thanks for your response. That water drop effect looks really great when the Mallard lifts off, and you see it on all seaplanes. If you could make the effect useable on other planes that would be outstanding. In any event, thank you and the rest of the LDR team for your great work on the Mallard. :encouragement:

Ah so when I'm out of country, he goes and releases it :D

Merry Christmas folks! hope you enjoy her!

Regarding an earlier question from familton; Not really... I'm afraid due to this being all 3d gauges, there are no regular panel areas to add simicons to... Other than a small slim popup that always stays open as you mention, there isn't really a way we could add anything to the vc... its just not build to support that methodology of gaugework.

I've noticed that the texture sheets are different from the FS9 version. Is there a layered paint kit for this version?
