The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Staying indoors, trying to keep cool (32C is not normal for YYC, and very rare in June) so I scrounged around...

not a bad-looking aircraft, considering it was made by an office furniture manufacturer...:playful: (that is still in business)

Something different - obviously work in progress, but did go on to fly successfully and there are few photos...

S.n.c.a.s.e. se-3000?

[I apologise for the lower case - it seems that some sort of predictive text is operating with the result that, despite however many times I type upper case, lower case letters appears for all but the first one. It doesn't seem to be my computer, as I've typed the same on another website and it stays in upper case, so I must assume that it is this website.]

Well I will give it a go, Mike. You are barking up the wrong tree, this being a machine of historical interest, and particularly to me (hint hint). It has a Gipsy Six driving the rotors.
(so far, so good with the keyboard !)

I'm having site trouble too - the Edit function has gone doolally...

Yes, the W-6, Mike, from :scotland:. Made the first helicopter passenger-carrying flight in Britain, October 1939. Over to you.

Very pleasant day here - a minimum of gardening, then a glass or two of chilled Chambéry. :very_drunk:

Thank you, Mike.

I hope that you enjoyed your Chambéry. It's an acquired taste and I wouldn't have thought it to be widely available in the UK. Me, I enjoyed lunch, in the garden, of a well afiné Comté, fresh bread and a bottle of Saumur Champigny. Heaven!

Here's an attractive little two seater, whose bigger brother put in an appearance a few years back.

This deer little thing dates from the fifties but was substantially rebuilt in the eighties. It twice underwent engine changes, getting something more powerful each time. I believe that it is extant today.
