I'm already stumped, lol. . .I have no idea how to produce the specular texture, lol.:salute:
Don't worry about the specular just yet. Concentrate on getting it all painted, then I, or someone will help you out

Paint Shop Pro.

Oleboy, sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the site would be useful for full painting resources. I just thought it might be helpful to you guys in getting ideas for schemes that looked cool, to further research, since it has boatloads of Thorp shots.
I found N55RC there, and then just Bing-searched for the site that had all kinds of more useful shots... http://aapconline.com/dlprince/sa/ThorpLog.htm
Yea, the method is just more involved than it needs to be. . . .do a single layer 32bit bmp, add an alpha and your done just is a no-brainer. . .with FSX you've got the main texture, then a bump map, then a specular shine and each of those needs to be tweaked just right to get the effect you're looking for and then you might spend a third of the time you're flying outside the airplane to take screens, but most of it is inside. If you fly multiplayer, chances are the folks you're flying with won't see your plane close up except for the brief time you're on the ground before you take off or they won't see it at all because they don't have it anyway, lol. Just strikes me as way overdone for the little time we might spend looking at the airplane in great detail. It just seems like a lot of work for the brief "oooooh look at that" factor. Just my opinion.:salute:. . . . . . or the process of FSX repainting methods in general?. . . . . . . . . . .The only real difference that needs to be done, are that the textures need to be flipped within DXTBMP. And sometimes the Alphas might need flipping.
