Up and running and ABSOLUTELY AMAZED by the level of immersion in this sim!!

To Pol, Winder, Paarma and all the devs: You guys really are the class of the field -- thank you!!!!!!!

( I wrote a much longer post initially, but lost it to the time-out gods so I'm keeping this post brief)

To all the guys, congratulations on excelling yourselves! Have been going a few days (cfs3 user for some years) and man those AI can bite! The scenery, skies, effects etc. are true craftsmanship. Thanks a heap for many late nights to come.

Up and runing boy's, it took no less than half an hour to install and patch.
Well worth the wait, a big thanks to all..
getting 30 to 40 fps it's fantastic....:friday:
 
It finally arrived. Installed it last night, plugged in all my flight simmy accessories, (TrackIR, MSSWFF2 etc) today, and took er up for a flight. 10-15 mins of sheer bliss, followed by an unpleasant encounter with some EIII's and a rather nasty crash.

This game rocks! :woot:

Thanks so much guys. An impressive improvement over Phase 2 from what I've seen so far.
 
Salute All,

I have completed the build on my new super gaming computer and loaded it up with a fully updated XP Pro x64 OS; all the latest drivers for the vid card, chips, etc; and I just installed "Over Flanders Fields - Between Heaven and Hell".

OH MY LORD!

I have never seen anything like it. The detail of EVERYTHING is over the top. It's like RB3D Terminator has come to us from the future. Beautiful aircraft, full landscapes with tens-of-thousands of real trees, all types of buildings and vehicles and you-name-it, and it all stays consistant as you fly, (no more things disappearing and reappearing as you zoom around). Plus a fully active front with AA, cannons, MGs, balloons, trenches...all of it. And a view that seems to go on for miles and miles. And the weather! The first mission I flew was in March of 1916 and it was in a snowstorm. A real, honest-to-goodness virtual snowstorm! The SP campaign appears to be dynamic, although I have only flown three missions so its hard to tell.

I have all the sliders pushed to the full #5 level, with the exception of terrain which it says NEVER push past #4 because there isn't a computer built yet that can support it at #5...LOL! And I am getting a rock solid 38 to 70 fps at a 1600x1200 resolution on my 19" monitor, and that's over the front in a furball. It is awesome. You folks have put together an incredible WW1 flight sim here. My hats off to you all.

Great to hear more up and running and having food fun! Let's hear some combat stories in the forum when you have flown more.
 
Schultze reporting in, can't wait to load in the new patch, start a new pilot and get some of those unconfirmed kills back :) Great Game Guys I'm really enjoying it.
 
Up and Running

Excellent sim. Disabling vertical z buffers and horizontal z buffers on a NVIDIA has enhanced my FPS by about 10.
