What saddens me the most is that John's fantastic model and talents are being mistreated by this company....he deserves so much better.
I can only hope that he was decently paid for his efforts...

Yes, that's what I said before. He really needs a serious publisher for his work, it's so wasted.
I will try all to get my money back from this impostors. I will try to warn all people in other forums never to buy anything at Warbirdsim or Ariane. This is not only bad customer support, this seems like crime to me...

Since people should be informed about this when doing product research it would be good add the words Warbirdsim P-51 and P-51D to this thread. When doing a google search I only find this thread when searching "warbirdsim mustang", and I'd like to also see it appear when searching "Warbirdsim P-51D". Adding the keywords here should help that.

Dear Fellows - I had a talk with VISA today abaout the Handling of a posting to a prior period, because Paypal can not do it. They say that we have to go, with the Settlement for the month of buying, to the administrative office of our bank and ask there for the procedere.

At the warbirdsim.com-website - it is still active ! I read the following line :

(17) Our details

So here is my question - Did someone know the registered address of them and is someone from the UK-Members able to find out the TBC-Number.

John Terrell (Bomber_12th) This case need your help now - please provide us with the requested informations.

Dirk

As far as i notice there are only macroth72 and myself getting no download-link for the paid product - others out there ?

Hmm. OK. So they're NOT a registered company - (company number "To Be Confirmed").

I've just checked at Companies House (the UK business registry) and there is no company registered or proposed under the name of Warbirdsim.

Unfortunately their call centre is currently knocked out, but the website is here: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/index.shtml

The warbirdsim mustangs are B/C/III NOT D.

Not yet, but John has almost finished a D model as well, which looks very nice on the shots I've seen.
However, if it is going to be another warbirdsim release....
I wonder how far A2A are with their accusimmed version...?
Lewis, any news?

Thanks for your quick reply Ian, with every new day it smells more like crime !
I hope now that John Terrell is a man of honor and help us.

Dirk

Interesting. A search on whois.com reveals the name of the company that registered warbirdsim.com. A search for that company at Companies House reveals that said company was dissolved on 8 Dec 2009.

Nice, maybe they said

"Damn, our company is broke, we should do a final sale to get some extra money in our pockets. In January no one can contact us anyway, because our mail services will be cut down"

I fear we will never see anything again, no money and no bird...particulary no "Warbird"

cheers! :guinness:

Just out of interest, I did the same with Ariane. That domain was registered by a different company, which is still registered at Companies House.

Wonder what would happen if you looked up the directors of the company that registered Warbirdsim and that which registered Ariane?

I also found this on the "download" section of their website:
From Support Files to Documents and Videos to Download

We would like to say a big thank you to Ariane Studios for letting us use their website template. We liked their site so much that we approached their website company and after some trials we wanted a site more like Ariane so they said OK for us to use the same template. Thank you.
I say "Thank you", too! Maybe they should have paid Ariane to use their template...

This doesn't sound good at all. Some have from all indications so far, lost $$ and will never see anything for it, others have the product but will be apparently "screwed" in the future if we have to reinstall due to a computer failure/upgrade and won't be able to get an activation code.

If they are truly out of business, then hopefully John can choose a different, more reputable vendor, plus somehow help those of us that have already purchased if we ever have to reinstall or if we've purchased but never gotten it activated.

If they still ARE in business, imho they're much too "sketchy" for me to purchase anything from them in the future after this latest fiasco.

Darrell

It certainly doesn't look too good, does it? Even allowing for serious technical problems on their end you'd think that somebody from Warbirdsim could post here to at least reassure people. I feel sorry for you chaps who haven't even received your activations yet. If worst comes to worst and Warbirdsim have ceased trading then I don't see any reason why John can't take his Mustangs elsewhere, especially as it appears that Warbirsim are sitting on people's money. Whatever transpires out of all this I really hope the D model is not a Warbirdsim release.

I suppose we should be careful to not get ahead of ourselves with speculation. However, in the absence of any communication at all from Warbirdsim one can hardly blame people for fearing the worst...

Warbirdsim haven't stopped trading. The site is still there, the shop is still live. The company that registered the Warbirdsim domain name was dissolved at the end of last year.

The problem is that Warbirdsim are acting in an exceptionally disingenuous and secretive way. No names, no company details, claiming to be registered as a UK company when they are not. None of that may be illegal, but it is exceptionally untrustworthy.

What worries me - as this has happened before a number of times in my experience and the man behind Ariane's inception was in the thick of all of them - is that both John and their customers will get cold shouldered. People who know Ariane's history will already know who I mean. People who don't may wish to look at Ariane's history, the man behind it's history and the various companies he folded without any warning or notice, without paying the developers whose products he published. Note, not company, companies. He did this several times.

I must point out that I do not know that the same thing is happening here, although I do not trust Warbirdsim in the slightest and if they do have technical problems (what, all of them at once?!) I find it very hard to believe that no-one can get to a computer and update people. The whole situation and "company" is exceptionally suspicious.

I've had the Warbirdism site bookmarked for quite sometime in hopes that they'd have a sale someday as the original price was too high for me. I saw this thread being active so assumed paints were being released or something simulliar.

The active thread got me to click my bookmark and low and behold, half price! But no, I'm currently broke so I hoped the sale would last untill next Friday. I figured I should look into the thread here to work up the excitement untill I picked it up next week. Whew, glad I'm broke! What a waste of money that would have been.

Bomber_12th although I don't know you even in the virtual sense enough people here who's opinions I trust say you are all right so I believe them. I see that you have incredible talent and hope you come out of this OK and get your work published elswhere because I'd like to aquire some in the future.

One of the War Bond posters on the Warbirdism site has this slogan;
You buy 'em,
You fly 'em.

Come on Warbirdism, stand by that.

A message I sent yesterday to WBS bounced as well, so I'm assuming they did indeed disappear...
I suppose I'll write it down to experience.
I never liked the company, but caved in in the end because I wanted to see John's work. Well, I've seen it, so I got what I paid for....
but I am left with a big hangover.....
They knew what they were doing, with all their security I don't suppose anybody can point me to a pirated version...?

interesting read here btw
