Weird Plane photo-

I am more curious as to why any person would want that in his hanger! I guess some fellas just gotta try to fly everything! What a monstrosity!:ernae:

Looks like it came from the Farman aircraft company by the looks of the shoulder mounted wing, the fuselage and the empennage.

Seaplane+sub or aircraft+tank

It shure looks like a mix between a seaplane and a submarine (in case of failure of the waterproofing?)
or a tank turret put on top of an 1930´s french aircraft.

It's definitely not a seaplane! it looks like an early "gunship" the turret has 3 guns with a (for an Aircraft) very large caliber, as from the picture the guns can only aimed downwards, the picture shows the most upward elevation I think. I really like to know what Aircraft it is, I never saw it before.
The front has a bit from a Potez 65 also the wing mount, but the tail is very different.

Hm, it looks a bit like a winged dog, but I'm maybe wrong and it's the newest (secret) US weapon.:icon_lol:

Clue

As of PMJack picture, and looking at the engine nacelles near the wing tips (probably mini Jumo 004), I think it was some kind of WWII german ultimate resource: The Dogjäger. The difficult part would be throwing the bones high enough to make them intercept the bombers!! Maybe they would distract the pilots and make them collide with each other!!

Now becoming serious and going back to MR question: I have a clue: Not only the frenchs designed and produced aircrafts with 2 or more vertical tailfins. The italians also had some. Look at the trimotor in the background: I think it´s not a JU-52. May be it´s some kind of italian tri motor. The "colors" in the tailfin could well be italian´s.

This has all been very useful and enlightening information, fellas! I'd say we are ready for a Wikipedia article!

Seriously, though. That captured photo of the winged rover is most disturbing. Goes to show that the enemy never sleeps and that we must remain ever vigilant. :)

I think it is a German glider design intended to be towed by the JU-52 in the background!

Hitler wanted to invade England. Had the Brits not dessimated his Luftwaffe in the BoB, he would have needed some towed gliders to land massive troop units. A glider with a multigun turret would have been something that would have come in handy.

Look at it again. It is a wooden frame big enough to put troops into. The cockpit looks like a glider, not a motorized aircraft.

Perhaps an experimental version of the Gotha GO242???

Or a modification of the nose on a DFS331????

The photo was taken in Belgium and the plane is, probably, a fighter version of the Société Aéronautique Bordelaise AB-80, according this French forum:
