SNACO C.A.O-600 Operational History

The first prototype made its maiden flight on 21 March 1940, being flown from Villacoublay to Istres on 31 March. It had completed 35 flying hours by 25 June when the test programme was stopped by the French surrender to Germany. The second prototype, which differed in having the folding wings required for carrier operations, was abandoned incomplete, while the first prototype was dismantled and stored until it was finally scrapped following the German occupation of Southern France in November 1942

I was wondering what the hole in the side by nose was.............Tail Wheel Carriage and hole

So it may be a shot of southern france or hauled to switzerland or italy and photographed???

This was the CAO 600

It's a gun position...

Rudder Stabilizer Hydraulics

I believe it is the two SNACO CAO 600's

The Axis would be interested in these because they were a serious threat to Naval Power and they were unknown.

I believe the hole is too small for a gun position ........although that is what I thought was possible. So it is the top hole instead of the bottom????Not a gun position.

I believe I see hydraulics coming out of the hole.........

maybe the Rudder and Stabilizer hydraulics??? instead of tail wheel??

Yes.........it is a SM 73 to maybe a SM 79 series

Yes.......the Dewoitine 750 was the next series in the torpedo bomber design but it had alot to do with the CAO 600 is why I mentioned it.

And...

I though the lady in the Charlie Chaplin film was holding the first wirelss earphone...........
with a reciever under her big coat.

Turns out it was the first electonic hearing aid.
