Whatever Floats Yer. . .

Boy, do we need this! I have 8 different float jobs lined up for first flight!

Thanks ahead of time,

Paul :applause: :applause:

I was unsure if a float plane could actually land on this lake, lol. . .based on other lakes I've seen, this one just appeared to be quite small. I took the default Beaver and slewed up a few thousand feet, then flew around the lake to get a sense of how much space I actually had. I actually had a lot more space than I thought. You can't slowly ease the airplane down on a long final, but using the available space, I think most any floatplane can get in and out.
Another WIP. . .I've added more walkways (still need to add the planks).

Looking forward to it.
Will this be for default FSX or would FTX or something be required for correct placement?

Ouch (struck by a thought), I just read that abandoned ocean oil rigs have a year to be removed or clobbered to create artificial reefs.
What if some rich dude bought one and turned it into a getaway for himself, maybe a Hawaiian theme?
Let's say he had just enough money to buy it and pay for renovations and had a float plane and not a helicopter.
The plane could dock at the bottom of the platform and guests could take an elevator up to his private resort area.
I think a retired James Bond might do that.

(ok, Bond might also get an invisibility cloak from Q for the really wild parties)

Ed it's been fun seeing you evolve into a scenery guru, you just amaze me how far you have come. Keep up the good work and most of all have fun!!!!

Thanks Marvin. . .it has been an interesting schooling. . .but I'm a looooong way from being a guru, lol.

Thanks guys. . .this has been a real bear of a model (course all of em are for me, lol). I had a lot of trouble with the window frames on the Gazebo and so I built a frame on the ground, then rotated to a vertical and then hand placed it into two openings. . .phew. Each side of course is a different angle so each frame has to be rotated to match and then moved into place. . . .I keep working around that process for now, lol. The buildings have 2x2 slats vertically placed all the way around both buildings at about 12" spacing, that's been fun as well. I think I'm gonna go listen to some music and then go to bed, lol.

Looking good. You sound like you're learning carpentry.

Interesting the almost infinite number of ways of modeling. When I did my version of Whistler I relied heavily on textures with a very low poly model.

Probably should have looked around to see if anyone had done this. . .but it seemed like such an unlikely project for anyone, considering it isn't even modeled in FSX. Oh well. I would have done simple texturing as well, but I was unable to find any really good images. Everything I found was shot at extreme angles and long distances. What I'm doing may be so fps heavy that it won't be feasible to release it. Beta testing will tell for sure.

Will this be a Library Object you can place anywhere using the ADE Object Placement Tool?
I had not really planned for it to be a scenery object in that sense. The Gazebo and tool shed are pretty unique to this particular Waterdrome. I could make the dock segments themselves a separate item that could be place elsewhere, maybe add a generic shed or other building in place of the Gazebo and Shed.
