Who's flying what these days?

The few times that I fly anymore, it's usually a Connie. If I feel the urge to burn kerosene, I'll use Hiroshi's 747-800F. If I feel like being a tour guide, I'll grab a Catalina and run a loop around Hawaii.
 
Here's Curtiss Commando C-46A-55-CK #43-47135, climbing through 15,000 feet and will shortly clear the Patkai Range called "First Ridge" by the Hump pilots flying out of bases in the Assam Valley.

Today's flight is from Chabua, India to Kunming, China. You'll climb to 21,000 feet and settle down at 140 knots cruising speed and navigate using your ADF and NDB (non directional beacon) stations along the route. Your first waypoint is Ft. Hertz, then Likiang, then Yuanmou and finally Kunming. Barring problems like weather, mechanicals or the IJAAF, you'll be on the ground in 3 hours. After you land, report in, off-load your cargo (a couple of hours layover), you'll leave your "extra" fuel behind in China and head back home (hope they guess right on the fuel).

I'm using Alex Nicholson's CBIXv1 scenery. It installs like a dream. I'm set up to fly in both FSX and Acceleration. I'm currently flying the aircraft loss missions from Chick Marrs Quinn's great book, THE ALUMINIUM TRAIL (1942-1945). To date I've flown about 50 missions for about 150 hours. (There are some 600 missions to deal with) The community now has every type of transport aircraft available to fly the missions (C-46, C-47, C-53, C-54, C-87, C-109).
 
For the last few months I've re-discovered helicopters in FS9. Ever since I discovered Rob B's VTOL gauge it's opened up a whole new world. My current favorite helo is the Nemeth EC-120 done up in military colors (UH-74 Shoshone). Lately I've also been flying Lionheart's LearFan 2100 as well. Kind of touchy on landing but I like the challenge I guess :)
 
Well, until MVG3D finishes the CANT 1007's, I am enjoying flying my early work on this aircraft and flight model.

I just finished installing and configuring FS9 after a catastrophic computer failure two months ago.

(That other thing...) – check
Configure controllers - check
FSIUPC - check
FSGlobal2008 – check
Pablo Diaz clouds and sky – check
FSRealWXLite – check

And this was the very first addon plane I installed, as usual. Ok, first I installed the one with the wheels, then this one. Went out for my first FS9 spin this afternoon around Whidbey Island, WA.

Thank you so much for that tip! I found Rob's Gauge and installed it into my whirlybirds, and now I can control them much better, and landings are much easier! That gauge, and the Blade Slap gauge made my rotary world, too!!

A massive download with over 100MB and only one texture, but well worth it.
This must be the best detailed, useable, functional, clickable and realistic 3D panel I have ever encountered. Simply stunning!
I hope to see some repaints soon.
