'Yes, I'm In Love With A Romulan'

Ok....

You guys made me do this.....

Back in the 70's was a great British show that came on each week called UFO. It was about a private govt. group called S.H.A.D.O.W. that protected Earth from some hostile UFO attacks that were occurring, (peoples body parts disappear, etc). They had these cuties that wore purple wigs on the Moon Base.

ooooooooo lah lah...!

I remember watching this show with my father when I was a very little boy. I think one of the Moon Ladies is now married to Michael Caine.

Hey All,

OK My fav...

I would have guessed June Lockhart as Snuffy's...

-Ed-

Hey EasyEd, not to nit pick but I don't think that's a photo of June Lockhart you posted but her costar Nancy Cartwright (sp). As 'Penny Robinson' she literaly grew up on "Lost in Space".

On a sidebar, whenever I see photos of what hairstyles and fashions were going to be like in the future I have to laugh cuz at that time we really thought them to be "MOD"!!

Here’s a big Dina Meyer bacta tank kiss for Panther for inspiring me to watch Starship Troopers again. I borrowed it and this time watched all the way through with Director’s Commentary, which turned out to be very interesting. The film makers seem to have intended their adaptation of the original Robert Heinlein material to be satirical, but I see now that a lot of people didn’t see it that way. I guess a lot of critics had objections to the movie. I completely missed the controversy over this film when it came out; and at the time I was always up for a good rhubarb. I thought it was about Space Marines fighting giant bugs. Silly me. You also get to find out in the DC that test audiences around the world hated Denise Richards’ character, Carmen, and said, "The wrong girl dies." In Thailand the test audiences said, "The wrong girl dies." I don’t know; I didn’t think she was so bad. I had also forgotten that Dina Meyer’s character, Dizzy, had been a blue chip quarterback before she signed up with the Federation. I kind of understand now what women feel like when they look at Tom Brady.

I’m going to have to read the book again now, too, I guess. It’s been a long time. The book, I knew to have been controversial for a number of reasons. There are some key differences from the movie version, the big one being that the Mobile Infantry in the novel all wear powered battle armor, in which they look sort of like Peter Weller in RoboCop. If I remember correctly, the sexes in the service were segregated; Starfleet was all female, and the Mobile Infantry was all male. Ace and Lt. Rasczak characters are still there, but Dizzy Ramirez was a man. The Carmen character is written as a looker, but is uninterested in men or sex, and is only inspired by starships. I don’t remember any romances in the book, or a lot of combat either. It was mostly political philosophizing. There was much more fighting in the movie, and while we’re on the subject, I didn’t think much of the Federation’s strategic command. No close air support, no artillery support, and their assault rifes seemed to be rather ineffective against the bugs. They seemed to have to always mass their fire at point blank range or use tactical nukes.

A five-pages-thread: I guess you all just do it for the outfits, dont´cha?:costumes:

I want one of those purple wigs, with my loss of hair that would be a charming alternative...:engel016:

grunau_baby,

I'm shocked...shocked that you would think otherwise!

It's actually the hairstyles we are interested in.
