F7F Tigercat SOH Project

Today, I just finished 2 solid days of packaging and uploading for the AT-11 (8 models and 25 textures sets, and a paint kit) to upload to 4 sites. I am now done. Maybe now I can look at that for you.
Thanks Milton - you could probably tell I was frustrated. FYI, the start gauge gives me the same error with the A-26 too so it's gotta be something on my end. I'm running FS9 with latest FSUIPC, the sim is not installed on my main C: drive but on my secondary D: drive. Hasn't caused any probs in the past, fs9.cfg and other files are all where they're supposed to be.

Milton, just to report I have the F7F in FSX and it looks and flies great with no issues.

Many thanks again.

Thanks, that's great to hear. :jump:

New tire textures. I think they fit the Tanker a little better!

Jeremy

They do look nice TG. :)

:jump:I'm itching to fly this version!
How long do you reckon until WIP download guys?

That unit has been available for 2-3 weeks here in the library:

You also need the model update that adds specularity here:

Then let's away!

....thaaaaaanks Milton!:salute:

Conclusion of my part of the F7F ... again :)

With all the interim variants released (except for the -1), I have finished my part of the F7F project. My commitment was to do the exterior model.

I just want to say thanks to the SOH membership for all the contributions to-date to get this project moving and keep it going. The research, the gifts of manuals, the enthusiasm was great and we have some neat stuff to enjoy for awhile.

Thanks to the painters Tankerguy72, Franz LOWZ, Mike Zola, Smoothie, and Falcon, PRB for the panel work, Gary and Nigel for the sounds, Fliger747 for the awesome flight model, and others for the special gauges, Hansi, Mike, Doug, and of course Scott.

I have packed everything up and uploaded it to make it available for the next designer. N2056 wants to take the F7F native FSX and do the VC model with 3D gauges.

So, this has been great fun for all of us I believe and it will be interesting to see the evolution to a more accurate VC. Hope you all get as much pleasure from the series as I have building, flying and testing with the team. Enjoy! :jump:

Yes, indeed! Hats off to all you guys that created this great machine for FS9 & FSX (I'm still a die hard 32 bit pounder with FS9). Have had a blast adding the bits and pieces that make it as real as it can get. I've never seen one of these up close and real, even after all the years camping out at Oshkosh for the Airventure happenings. No, I missed 2007 & beyond. Back in Montana to live since 2006. May get to see one somewhere, sometime though. This one has great flying characteristics, and is a great warbird.
Thanks again, all!!!

Thank you Milton! The exterior model is GREAT! I can say for this being a work in progress it is definitely the most flown aircraft on my sim! I cant wait for the final package but i can say i wouldnt be depressed if this was it! Now start up a Thread on the C-1, S-2F (S-2A:wiggle:) so i can bug you over there haha

Thanks again

Jeremy

Hi!

I absolutely agree with Jeremy, the Tigercat is new a jewel in the flightsim sky, please continue such work!

Is it correct, that the next project will be the Grumman Tracker-Series?

Best regards,
Elmar

:applause:Enjoy the well earned fruits of your labour, Milton. Get some well deserved shut-eye, and take care.
Maybe a holiday up in one of those beautiful lakes you have in N. America. Do a bit of fishing, sightseeing, 'inspiration'...
Something I seem to be picking up on between the lines, however (although I'm being presumtious) is maybe the bug has bitten you for a new project already...no, surely...not this soon!
It couldn't be a M....:kilroy: no, no, I promise I wont mention it again! Ever! Scouts honour and all that kind of thing! If the keyboard hand offends then cut it off with thine other! Ouch! Done!

:mixedsmi:...but it would have been awfully nice! And those lakes 'aint as quiet as they may seem.

Thanks for a wonderful Tigercat!

the Tigercat is new a jewel in the flightsim sky(LDN Int)

It is indeed a jewel and for me as good a finished product as any other.

Milton, you once again deliver way more than is promised (including coming out, at least once, of "retirement" to lead yet another fantastic project).

Thanks again + time for the rest of us here at the SOH to step up and provide on-going F7F Q&A support here and give Mr Shupe a well deserved break.

I have to put my ' 2 cents' in!!!

I have ALL of Mr. Shupe's (and co) aircraft and enjoy / fly everyone of them!!

It seems like every time he produces one, it's better than the last - and there is certainly nothing wrong even with his very first one!!!! I sort of compare Mr. Shupe and his crew to a bottle of fine wine - just keeps getting better with age!!! (NOT an insult Sir...)

Since I'm teaching myself to paint, I certainly have enough to keep me busy for a while!!!

You all need to take a well deserved break - I, like every one else, personally THANK YOU for all your great contributions to this hobbie.

Regards;

Bill

The drag is modeled without the externals, with rockets, shackles etc it should be about 15 mph slower.
