A Lockheed "Rounder"

Here are some shots of the exterior ...

I have most of the issues fixed now. I must setup an alternate panel using Matt's new panel texture and add gauge backlighting.
Hopefully I can get all this done over the weekend and get ready for a beta test next week.

Now I know where the word STUNning comes from

Fantastic fellas.:applause:

Milton- Will there be a super clean version without rockets on the hardpoints? Thanks.

Moses, as was discussed early in the life of this project, yes. :) Post #95

...snipped... I love to hear the sounds of electric fuel booster pumps, the dip in the sound as the priming switch is engaged, the whine of the starter motor, and the banging and belching to life of a reciprocating engine. It's great stuff, the only thing better is to be there and smell it too!

I just hope Nigel didn't lose sight of your comment from back then. :kilroy: Maybe you should be on the beta team to be sure. :) :wiggle:

In case of the Connie they had to add a third for stability, but overall there's a remarkable similarity in wing and tail designs for a lot of Lockheeds around WW2; from the model 10, 12 and 14, the P-38 to the Constellation!

Texture Ideas.....Yellow tug?

The current blue is by by far my favorite, but early on when Matt "Michelangelo" Wynn was working on the first paint kit he used a toned down yellow and I mentioned I liked that color as it made me think of a tug or trainer. If Matt still has that that could be super cool.......Of course, anything bare metal would be super great too....

Any thoughts about faking a USAAF B-34 paint scheme for it? Seems these 2 aircraft were very close to each other.....

I seem to remember from my cfs2 days having a USMC Harpoon, or maybe Ventura, in olive over gray. I remember being surprised that the Marines would fly an aircraft painted like that. Does anyone know if they really did? It would make a nice variation from blue. I'd also go for the USAAF scheme (pretty much the same I guess).

P.S. Will there be a guns/no stores model?

P.P.S. I'd also go for a two-tone blue over white scheme even if it's not strictly legit, I really like that scheme.

Once Matt releases a Paint Kit (Matt?), I think we will see a lot of different schemes. :jump:

Meanwhile we still have some work to do to get ready for a beta. I will be looking at all the contributors to this project from day one to select a team. I'll also throw in a few of the bleachers crowd who cheered us on. :) Thanks to all who have interest and gave the moral support so important to drive these projects. :applause:

Three model variations: 1) Guns. no drop tanks, 2) Guns with drop tanks, 3) Civvie version
