AH B-25 Mitchell for MSFS Released

Did a brief flight with a wingman. Did not get a really enough time with the machine to get a great feel for it. It would be a great feature to remove the sights in the cockpit. +1 on the folks commenting on the sound inside the airplane. The B-25 is hands down the loudest airplane I have ever been on. I tell people it's twice as loud as the B-17, although in reality its probably not, but sure sounds like it! Ha! This would be a great opportunity to have the sound loud in the cockpit, until you slip on some simulated headset and it dampens the sound. One thing I have not seen anyone comment on yet that I noticed is that the bomb doors should actually be fairly quick to open and close. I *think* maybe just over a second to open and same for closing. I could be wrong on the exact timing.

The B-17 appeared relatively quiet to me. Well, no silence of course. I had a flight with "Aluminum Overcast" in 2016 and was all over the place during the flight - with no headset.
I think the problem is doing that for hundreds of hours.

Cheers,
Mark

I know it's been said by AH that repainters and repaints are a non-priority, but I have to say, thank you AH for the excellent exterior UV mapping and model uniformity, repaints will be glorious! It's really a nice model, well done team.

The B-17 (Sentimental Journey) is surprisingly quiet, in comparison to the Mitchell. I am lucky in that the B-25J Mk.III "Hot Gen" lives up the road from me. I have stood next to her many times as she fires up, and experienced several low passes. There is a very distinctive dual pitch of the engines at cruising speeds, and a deep rumble that's very identifiable as the Mitchell. You can hear it coming from miles away, even without seeing her, you know it's the B-25. The Lancaster you can feel in your chest, the Mitchell has the dual tones and deep rumble. I hope the new audio files capture that.

I'm looking at all the new screenshots of the B-25, and I'm somewhat undecided about buying it.

Really !??...... Surely your mileage may vary but i could only be happier with this release if it would've been a B-17... ;-) But only by a very small margin because i do very much like what AH managed to put on the tarmac with their rendition of the B-25 ! This is about what the Microprose B-17 could and should have been but no use bringing that up again. To me the MP B-17 has crashed beyond repair. A total loss if you ask me.

Fortunately the AH B-25 is from the other end of the rope ! :encouragement: :encouragement:

I'm almost 100% sure you're going to like it very much, Paul. Once the engines soundsuite is up to scratch (it's quite good already.. ) 'almost' can be disregarded. ;-) If you like the AH Lancaster you like the B-25. Same league. Same quality. I do have a few cosmetic issue's to whine about but nothing really serious i.e. stop me from loving it.
