Is it not like only the very good aircraft models deserve some rivet counting ? If that's true here is just a bit of that for the AH B-25 particularly in the cosmetic department. It
IS a very good model, isn't it !
#1. I know that he front wheel rim of the B-25 sometimes was dirt protected by a cover/lid. I have never seen any evidence of that regarding the main wheel rims. So i wonder about that looking at the AH B-25 main wheels ?...

That looks quite a bit like a cover too also because it turns with the rim/tire... But what about the brakes ?... This is how the main wheels look on a real B-25 :
The 'hub' is attached to the main gearstrut and holds the brakes calliper. The rim and tire revolve around this 'hub'. A good view on that is here:
Rim and 'hub' are always bare metal and often show signs of oil, grease and dirt (funny enough usually tires do not show dirt that much...hint,hint..;-).Btw, this is exactly the same for the B-17 and a lot of other big US warbirds.
#2. Understandable that the external paints are of the matt finish ( although one could argue about maybe just a touch of shine anyway ? It's all metal isn't it, not wood...flying will 'polish' the paint a little also..) But wouldn't the cockpit colors not benefit from a little bit of shine too ? Very black and very matt in there atm... Nice to see atleast some green/olive colors ! Many B-25's had the lower parts of the cockpit painted green in various hue's ( see how good the throttle quadrant/pedestal looks if painted eggshell darkish green/olive.. ;-)
#3. What's up with the heavy steel helmet that the co-pilot is wearing ?...... Shouldn't every crew member wear it then ??..... Or is the co-pilot a scaredy-cat ? Must say i do like a bit of company during a flight but i'm getting quite nervous sitting next to this cat.... Likewise i have a problem with my nose gunner trying to wipe-out the entire airfield crew and innocent bystanders with his .50 caliber.....
Very good that we have a choice ! The thing is that this crew chapter is difficult to deal with, isn't it. While on the ground, during preparation, start-up, taxi etc it looks pretty silly to see almost the entire crew at their battle stations ready to fire, wear flak helmets, O2 masks where that would not look misplaced at all at 30k feet, right ? If a dev happens to worry about that and makes the wrong choice he gets the "i want to see the crew at their battle stations ! Why did you leave that out !??". Or he gets my kind of hot soup in his lap " see above " ;-) I.e. never good enough !
No doubt the right thing to do is to expend the choice that the user has regarding the crew or automate it.... ( 0 to 10K feet casual, above that O2 masks/cloth helmets, above 20K flakhelmets/battle stations... or something like that... ) Or another option : fuhgeddaboudit ;-)
#4. No exhaust flame thingies.... ? (out of the stubs, small blue'ish, nearly visable during day)
#5. At certain rpm's the complete cockpit shakes/rattles but NOT the cockpit glass !
#6. Cockpit glass heavely scratched..... bit less maybe ?...
#7. Select stations switchboard: "Go To" knob doesn't work (atleast not in 2024)
#8. Cockpit night lite : just the red light ? No radium paint for the gauges ?...
So far so very good, Fantastic model, AH ! Thank you so much ! Love it !
