Just one more thing I noticed: Are the flaps supposed to work in increments? The gauge suggests so, but there are only two settings in the .cfg, 0 and 60 degrees.

Cheers, Stuart

With the exception of the B.1, all Canberras had only two flap settings: up, and down at 60 degrees. The wing was so big that you got all the lift you needed on take off and only have to deploy them on landing. Good design. Nice shots, love 'em.

Hi, I have noticed one more thing: on my system the VC canopy is very opaque and the reflections on it are very strong so that I can see little outside of the office. I have tried to fiddle the glass bmp but have not achieved anything except a lightening of the opaque color. Is there a way to control canopy opacity?

Cheers,
Sascha

I'm not personally going to adjust it, as it works well for me, but to lower the reflection strength, you can try taking the glass.bmp into an editor and lighten the alpha channel.

Shockwave VC lighting

For those of you using the shockwave config included in the cfg file, you will need to change any entries of 'fx_shockwave_vclight_r' to fx_shockwave_vclight. This is a bug stemming from my own personal set up, in which I modified the shockwave VC light colour to a red shade for military lighting, but overlooked setting this back to the generic file for release.

Many thanks to Shawn for picking up on this.

If anyone would like to mod their files, the code block is as follows. In particle attributes, set the Color End value to the values given in bold below.

[ParticleAttributes.0]
Blend Mode=2
Texture=fx_2.bmp
Bounce=0.00
Color Start=100, 100, 100, 1
Color End=90, 22, 22, 0
Jitter Distance=0.00
Jitter Time=0.00
uv1=0.00, 0.00
uv2=0.01, 0.01
X Scale Goal=0.00
Y Scale Goal=0.00
Z Scale Goal=0.00
Extrude Length=0.00
Extrude Pitch Max=0.00
Extrude Heading Max=0.00

Cheers,

Steve

Great job as always steve I would expect nothing less of you,except they keep getting better,and better.Thanks for all your hard work, I am really enjoying these beauties.:salute:

Thanks a lot, Phantom and Corsair, I cannot tell you how nice it is to hear people are enjoying the new models. You never know how things are going to be received after release, and this is a big relief! Post up some screens when you get the chance, I love seeing 'em.

Cheers,

Steve

Outstanding job, Guys! I've always been a bit of a Canberra fan and it's a sheer joy to have this one in my hangar. I'm quite pleased with the way she flies, but the sound file is the icing on the cake!

Thanks for all the work. I'm looking forward to the add-ons.

Bob

Hi Bob,

yes the sounds truly are the icing on the cake; a BIG thanks to the WT333 team for recording them - you cannot beat the sound of a real Avon at full blast, and it was a real pleasure sitting there with headphones on cutting up those sounds I can tell you!

Rock on with the Canberra, lots more to come, continuing I believe with the 'alpha Canberras' (as in first, not the former company!) - the B.1 prototypes.

On a different note, I have had one comment regarding alpha shine on the exteriors, can anyone confirm (with the exception of the late era camo B.2) that they can see some shine on the paintwork? For instance it should be noticeable on the black and grey Bomber Command 1 scheme and the natural metal of the classic B.2.

The subtle shine is there, Steve. Sorry it took me so long to reply to this thread, but your new Canberra B2 is a work of art.:jump: I like floating her in on the approach with the flaps down, and gently sitting her down on the runway. The sound file is exquisite... as mentioned before.

I don't know if someone has mentioned this, but when one hits the "nav lights' switch on the panel, just the tail beacon (white light) comes on... no wingtip red or greenie. Let me know if there is a fix, or if it's my imagination...lol!

Double-check the lights code for the wingtips is set to '3' - nav lights. I think this might have been an early bug, and has been fixed in the main pack now. So, the lights code should look like this for wingtips:

//wingtip lights
light.2=3, 2.1, -31.9, 0.9, fx_navredm
light.3=3, 2.1, 31.9, 0.9, fx_navgrem

Glad to hear the shine is there, I'm not completely losing my mind then! I know what you mean about the approach with flaps down, you can set the RPM just under 6,000 and ease it on in, then drop the revs right off at the end. For a less than average pilot like myself, she's very forgiving on landings!

Stuart, love the screens, nice moody 'dirty bird' snaps there :) Yes, thanks also for the good luck wishes, I'm going to be a tad nervous when I throw the switch no doubt.

In the LIGHTS section of the aircraft.cfg change the light type from 2 (strobe) to a 3 (nav lights)

//wingtip lights
light.2=2, 2.1, -31.9, 0.9, fx_navredm
light.3=2, 2.1, 31.9, 0.9, fx_navgrem

change to:
//wingtip lights
light.2=3, 2.1, -31.9, 0.9, fx_navredm
light.3=3, 2.1, 31.9, 0.9, fx_navgrem

EDIT: Oops! Beat me to it!

By floating her in, basically I just like to see how slow I can go on the approach, and time it so that when she finally stalls, I'm just a couple feet off the runway. It's a timing thing... the flight model is excellent. Thanks Steve, she's a real gem.

BTW, those changes in the light section did the trick! Thanks guys!

Paint kit ready for download

Hello all,

just a quick note to say the B.2 paint kit is now available for download here:

http://www.flyingstations.com/canberra-pack-b2.html

Please note the files are PSD format and use layer comps to toggle between major paint schemes. If you are unfamiliar with layer comps, use you Adobe Help command in photoshop or search online for info - they are easy to use and well worth learning.

Steve, a big thank you for this beauty and your kind help on the forums :jump:
cheers, Henk.

No problem at all, Henk, and WOW, those last shots, especially the camo B.2 over Norfolk are amazing, I LOVE the lighting on them. I would like to start a users gallery soon, and with your collective permissions, will start compiling your best shots for the web page.
