Canberra B.2 freeware pack out now!

This anomaly is caused by what?

Has already been reported on page 2 of this thread, Steve's answer is on page 3 and on the Flying Stations forum. It is a leftover in the aircraft.cfg from testing, the T.17 is not yet included in the B.2 pack, it will come out later.

Solution: Remove these lines from your Aircraft.cfg:

[fltsim.2]
title=Canberra T.17 WH664
sim=B2_early
visual_damage=1
model=t17
panel=
sound=
texture=t17
kb_checklists=
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=WH664
atc_airline=RAF
atc_flight_number=WH664
atc_parking_codes=ASY
ui_manufacturer=English Electric
ui_type=Canberra T.17
ui_variation=WH664
description=Canberra T.17A, WH664 of 360 Sqn, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Wyton, late 1980s. This particular aircraft was adapated to T.17A standard.

Really, really nice - the first repaint I've seen and a very good one. Would any repainters be so kind to also post their work on the Flying Stations forum as well? Regular game screenies can go up there too, so please everyone, share your work on there too - some really good stuff coming out.

Where is this Flying Stations forum website?

I have to say, I love this Canberra. My only bugbear (and I hate to appear as a complaintnik about this due to all the hours and hours of work put into it for free) is the canopy glass which has some sort of graphical swirly thing going on, I find it very distracting. It's even worse in FSX.
Other than that, it is perfect.
Is there a workaround?

OT: scenery in your screenshots

Hey zsoltquack,

I love the scenery in your screenshots. What is it and where can we get it please?

Thanks in advance!

Ian

The paint is available on board the Flying station

You can try messing with the alpha reflectivity (is that a word) if it's causing you a lot of grief. A lot depends on any graphics updates you've made- I got some of the swirl after installing RE Pro, but I think it was fine (don't quote me, it's been a while) with the default graphics. Either way though it doesn't bother me that much and I like the high level of reflection you get on the exterior glass.

Zsoltsquack - lovely Aussie repaint, keep 'em coming.

Indeed a nice paint, and if you're patient, the dedicated B.20 models are not too far away...;) My only comment on the Aussie paint is it might need a touch of gloss, unless you're going for a more worn-down version from Vietnam.

Now that Zsolt already has covered the German Air Force 99+35, here comes my little contribution to this awesome aircraft package:

It's 99+34 of the "Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61" (blue fin crest) in its post-1991 appearance. After a serious engine fire, its wings were replaced completely with the little help of a butchered RAF TT Mk.18 without overpainting!

Some very nice shots here:

Even more pics already posted:

Note the crest on the starboard nose, as shown here:

The globe and compass represent the geodetic use of this aircraft, the castle has its origin in the town of Euskirchen, former home of the Luftwaffe's geodetic unit.

As usual, early work in progress...

Cheers,
Markus.

Great work Zsolt, and great work Markus - looking forward to adding both of those to my hangar. :salute:

The joy of the Cranberry is that it's long service and great versatility give us so many wonderful colour schemes to choose from. I've got a few in mind myself, when Steve releases some of the later versions.
