Heading North from Dacca in Acwai's P-38J, & using the railway line as a navigational aid.

We first pass over Tezgaon, then quickly come across Kurmitola...

Progress report.

Wanting a bit of a change, I headed back East & South, & extended the Burmese coast southwards.

I've gotten as far south as Palaw (a small river port just north of Mergui), & have the gsl done as far south as Tavoy.

Getting something finished for release will take some time - there are a lot of islands in the Mergui archipeligo, & precious few air facilities to break the monotony, but I am aiming to get the rest of the Burmese coastline finished...

Mergui & the landing strip there. Seems it was only used for a short period during 1943 by B5N Kates of 551 ku

I know I said there were few air facilities south of Tavoy, but I did find a couple of mentions of JAP Emergency strips near Kadwe & Palaw...

UT,

I have a request for a couple of air fields so can do the the second part of the AVG while they were in China.These bases were used shortly before the were disbanded and used when the became the CATF.There is no hurry because I'm still working on the Marianas which may take at least another month.I also have to look up their names.

I'm guessing

Kweilin (eventually 3 runways here)
Hengyang

I think CATF/23rd FG used some more as well in this Central China area....

Plus some target area fields as well?

Haiphong, Hong Kong, plus some JAP-occupied city airfields?

Looking at the AVG complete airbases list, I should probably should also re-do some more Thai bases as well.

So much yet to do...

Well you mentioned the right ones.Their the only ones I need to complete the AVG China.This will be about 30 missions.

I have the AVG done and is has 41 missions,it includes the Defense of Rangoon I already uploaded.

CATF is low on the list right now.I want to finish the Big E in the Marianas and after in the Philippines.

The CATF needs a lot more bases and I'm not working on it yet.

Small progress report (no pics this time)

I've extended the coastlines as far south as Bokpyin, & am working on the offshore islands (& there are a lot!).

Apparently there was a JAP ELS at Bokpyin, but there's very little "civilisation" in the area, so any extraction must have been by small boat or floatplane...
 
So the Burmese coast is finished, all the way to the Thai border...

The entire Mergui Archipeligo is also complete...šŸ„³

Coastlines, rivers, land & waterclass all done, just checking the gsl & air facility details, then assembling the package for upload.

I'll take a short break, then I'll start looking at the AVG bases in South Central China. Time to break out Rhumbas landclass for Region F then .... :a1089:
