Douglas C-47 v3 Livery Thread

Gordon,

If you have this paint, I sure would like a copy of it please....:encouragement: I like the two tone colors w/red stripe.
Thanks

Wont work Chief, the layout is different. C-117 uses three texture sheets for the external, the fuse is much longer, taller v-stab etc.

I've got a pearl silver/black skin for the C-47 though. My own personal ride. I can make it pure black and zip it up for you.

My outfit's Red and White C-47 got stolen. We made a deal with Willy over at Merc Air for this old DC3. Did some exterior work and applied little bitty N Numbers.
We then "tricked out" the cockpit using the new VVC from the team and GMan's black interior with black leather seats.

We decided to test everything by doing a little paying hop. We were told to just land here , taxi to the end of the runway, turn around, stop, open the door, and wait.
Man I sure hope our passenger is not being followed by the feds or somebody else that may be even more bad news.

Downloaded all three but can't get any to show up on the "Select Aircraft" screen in FSX. Attached are my aircraft.cfg and what's in my aircraft file. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sticking with my favorite schemes. This one is for the pilots who like flying out Edwards.

Once this one is done it's back to the VARIG scheme I need to finish.

Thanks,
triflyman ....this is from the readme.txt included with the aircraft.cfg entries you copied over...
From the readme...
"Note...the correct Model to use is the newly released 'C47_2' without the 'whiskers'.If you don't have that one change the 'model=C47_2' line to 'model=' [without comments]"

Yes...I do have that one and you'll see in my attachment the "C47_2" (and it works fine in my other airliner aircraft).

Any other ideas?

The fine C-47 V2 repaint of the present-day museum aircraft 'Canadian Armed Forces C-47 DOUGLAS C47A Dakota C-FROD 12927' by Mako8841 [texture.Canada.zip] was modified and updated for the C-47 V3 to represent CC-129 12933 as it appeared during the last decade of Canadian Forces service in the 1980s.

Thanks for your effort once again Gman. Frankly, I would not have thought it possible to improve upon Drag-Em-Oot. Already superb.

Gman - I'm having problems with "Drag-Em-Oot" being quite blurry. Nothing like your screen shots which are crystal clear. Any Ideas? I've downloaded your latest version and no better.

Here's the theme song for your livery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opBe5z0qwRE

Obie

Thanks for the song Obie. Fits perfectly. It also fits my new ride. I had to pay Ole Willy at Merc Air a good bit of "boot" but I swapped out the old DC-3 for this surplus C-47.

We're waiting on some government types to arrive who wanted us to transport some kind of equipment somewhere. Just hand my co-pilot the money along with the destination and we're good to go.

To all you'll who made this aircraft available to us, thank you. I'm having way too much fun with it.

Try placing a "_" between Qantas and VH-EAR in the .cfg texture= entry.
That's a mildly annoying trait caused by the site, it seems. The uploads have no underscore and match the aircraft.cfg entries, exactly as on my machine. The site apparently adds the underscore and screws with the functionality/simplicity.

Edit...have re-uploaded all 3 with amended instructions to match renamed files...;)
