I did a few laps in the pattern and the flight modeling and handling is superb (as usual). Thanks very much for this great work and addition.

I can't for the life of me get this to show up in my aircraft list. (I use FSX). I have a full grasp on how to tweak and install files in FSX, I add textures all the time and edit CFG info all day long... yet for whatever reason, this won't display in my aircraft list no matter what I try and it's racking my brain. ARRRRGH!

I even went and made a thumbnail for it, grasping at straws. Still get nothing. Grumman has nothing either when selecting by manufacturer. I've gone through every aircraft in my list one by one and it just isn't there, period. Anyone have any guesses before I put a hollowpoint .45 round through my computer? :p:

What's really ticking me off is apparently I'm the only idiot having a problem. :(

Well, it is simple to screw things up; I do it often. :)

What you have in the original download is what I show below straight from my FSX version.
If you made changes to it to look more FSX native, then you might check your changes. This works for me.

If you tried to combine the two models, don't. They have different flight models.
 
Thanks Milton! Yeah, I only tried the tanker version first. I didn't mess with the CFG until after it wouldn't show up, but then I did do as you guessed and tried to make it mimic the order of each entry to FSX style, which it still didn't work. Let me try yours! :wiggle:

It was at that point when it still wasn't working that I tried the fighter version, which I couldn't make work either. I know it's just me messing up here! I'm glad to see everyone else's is working and is lovin it!

I'll report back if this works! Thanks again Milton.

EDIT: Ok yeah... still no dice. Getting very frustrated here, because there is no reason for this not to work. I appreciate the help! :)
 
Just a question...

You did put it in your FSX/Sim Objects/Airplanes folder, didn't you? The installer just puts it in the FS9 Airplanes folder. If you put this in the main folder, or put the Airplanes folder (with the F-7F folder inside it) in the Sim Objects/Airplanes folder (making the tree FSX/Sim Objects/Airplanes/Airplanes/F-7F) it won't show.
 
I had all the folders properly installed, and it still wouldn't show. I found out what it was though! FSX didn't like the panel. I was checking that the panel was there, but I wasn't thinking that it could have been causing the issue. I was talking to another friend of mine with FSX and it wasn't working for him either. He said we should try switching panels with another aircraft just to isolate that as a possibility, and that was it!

Just an FSX pain in the butt. :) Nothing wrong with the plane of course! I've been flying it for the last 20 minutes and love it! It's a beautiful machine, and it flies equally as beautifully!!!! Kudos to Milton and 747 and the rest of the SOH team! What a dream to fly!

I am happy that you have it sorted out. Sorry that we do not have a panel for you and I am surprised that caused the issue as well.
 
hey Milton im doing a quick little repaint but cant for the life of me find the Tank texture?:isadizzy: There is one texture that says Tank but its different. Any Help? thanks
 
The tank has not been mapped. I did a temporary mapping of the aircraft so I could slap some general textures on it for the FSX testers but I added the tank later.

Tell you what, I will map the tank and upload the aircraft mapping templates. But you must understand that all of this will change later so I want to hear no complaints about that, okay? :)

EDIT: Added a TEMPORARY - to be changed - paint kit. It may not be perfect ... and I will not change it. It is temporary. :)

EDIT2: Replaced paint kit to add a newer Tank template.

EDIT3: Frankly, it has been so long, I forget whether I mapped the -3 separately or if only the -1. The template is for the -1.
 
Its a quicky, i threw it together so i didnt have to just see black

Maybe I need to re-export the tank (a separate gmax scene). Maybe I mapped it but haven't exported the new tank version with it. Will try that tonight.
