voted no,
with some tweaking i managed to have about 20 to 50. depends on where i am looking. but near the front with heavy barrage it can drop down to 8-9 fps. i don't even need to actually see the frontline. looking into this direction is often enough to make this heavy drop. since lot of action is near the front it's bit annoying.
i have settings at 5,3,3,2,1
i have a nvidia gtx 260 oc
2.2ghz quad.
since higher settings with nvidia workshop works better for me, i have desktop res at 1680 1050, aa 16, af 16, vertical sync on,
thank you very much for taking care of that kind of things, winder.

I run the same resolution but no AA and 8 Aniso. My picture looks lovely, but considering my system ( see earlier post ) my Fps are 20 at airfields, which is not brilliant. for slider at 54441.
My mobo says I can use a software overclock, so i think i'll try that soon.
Native is 2.93. I'll see what 3.5 or thereabouts brings.
Don't knock down the eye candy though - It's like a film-lovely

Question if i may - I see a lot of chaps with good systems running high res also running 8 and so on AA. That's a lot of antialiasing which I would have thought would eat up tons of FPS . ?
Or is it, like res in CFS3 and OFF - the more the better it runs? Devs?

I voted Yes.

FPS between 50 and 60 when dogfighting at 10.000 feet with 6 Dr.I vs. 6 Camels. Does not go below 50. Only when starting on an airfield it drops down to 18 when looking around. But dogfighting 6 Dr.I vs. 6 Camel over the same airfield I have FPS no lower than 22 when near ground, mostly 30 to 50. When flying very low over a destroyed town at the front I get around 40 FPS.

Screen Resolution 1920x1200, 8xAA, 16xAF, Sliders 5-5-4-4-5-3, Regional Air Activity: Light, Plane Textures: Medium

System:
ASUS Rampage Formula Mainboard
Core2Duo E8400 3GHz@4,15GHz
Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX 512MB
4 GB RAM @1120MHz
X-Fi Gamer Soundcard
TrackIR
Windows XP 32Bit SP3

A yes vote on my end. Rig particulars are:

Asus P5N-E SLI
E6600 CPU clocked to 3.0GHz
2GB OCZ PC6400
BFG GTX260 OC
Samsung 21.5" LCD @ 1680 x 1050
XP Pro SP3

Slider set to 5-5-4-4-5-2
AA @ 4
AF @ 8

I'm hitting mid to high 20s when dogfighting close to the ground/airfields, otherwise, I have the frame rate hovering in the mid to high 40s range...very playable...and enjoyable beyond words! :woot:

Winder,
I voted yes. FPS low altitude over field with 10 plane furball is 30+. FPS at mid to high altitudes is 50+. Big difference maker seems to be setting Global Vertical sync to Force Off.
Sliders=3,4,3,3,3,1
AA=2x Resolution=1366x768x32 which is max for this laptop
Vista running on Intel Core 2 T5800, 3 GB DDR2 SDram
Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS DirectX 10 256 GDDR3 with Global Verticle Sync set to Force Off
320 GB hard drive
I could bump up some of my sliders from here but it runs good at this and looks great.
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, Jim

I voted 'Yes' - I'm very happy with the performance I'm getting.

I've set max fps to 40 and in QC (haven't had time to try Campaign yet) with 9 aircraft in the fray it holds to that most of the time with just the odd dip and occasional hiccup. My specs are:

Vista Business 32 bit SP1, Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 2.4GHz, 4Gb RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS 256Mb.

Graphics settings are: Anisotropic filtering 4x, Antialiasing 2x, Antialiasing Transparency supersampling, Vertical Sync off.

Sliders are: 5,3,3,5,3

YES.

FPS 20-25 @ airfields, 100+ up high, 30-ish @ 1000ft furballs. Sliders 242221. On AMD FX-57 single-core @ 2.82GHz ( little O/C there ), 3gig DDR RAM ( O/C'ed a tiny, tiny bit), Nvidia 9800GTX PCIe - 512Mb - O/C'ed about 5%, 1280*1024/60Hz res. USB Saitek Evo Force. CFS3 - cd, Hdd defragged. In CFS3 config, write-only vertex shaders, index shaders disable, Vsync off, Terrain / Scenery lighting disabled ( that last one really bumped up the FPS ). Air activity - heavy. WinXP-SP3. 2AA, no AF. All FPS quoted when view max zoomed out; when zoomed in a couple of clicks ( default zoom ) - all FPs jumped up about 8FPS per zoom increment. Labels on/ off gave/took about 1.5FPS, VC gave about +12fps.
PS: not getting any gun-shudder on firing ( FF enabled ) - no big deal, just thought to mention, in case some1 goes ' oh yeah, that's because you've not done such-and-such' etc:whistle:.
Oh yeah, and it's the best game on the PC:amen:

Voted Yes.

FPS from 22 to 50 depending on the graphics load. Is always smooth.

CFS config in workshop says Geforce 6800 is configured. Can't get slider values. FPS is 30-40. Am very pleased. Scenery and weather is awsome. Didn't expect such good results with my rig.

Can those of us not using P3 as yet vote?

I ask, because - if we're being totally honest, I made the objective decision not to purchase P3, primarily due to my continued disappointment with graphics performance in OFF.

Not that you guys didn't do a heckuva job with this - you did. And it may well be limitations so deeply set in CFS3 that you can't change it.

But, believe you me, you guys find a way to get this mod/sim/game up to the standards a rig like mine *is definitely capable of*, you'll be my heroes, and I'd gladly pay what you're asking for it.

But, for now - for my money, the price-v-benefit "just ain't there".

So - can "non-paying" (but still potential) customers vote?

(BTW - please accept my gratitude for approaching this as you have. I had honestly all but given up on OFF and this forum, where all I could get so far were really a bunch of insults to my hardware, and my intelligence, about the graphics performance. This hardware does everything else I throw at it, no sweat, and I've been building all my own PC's for nearly 20 years now...but it's always been my sh*t ain't good enough or I'm not doing it right...interesting how now there's a thread asking about it, *and* others with opinions that seem very similar to mine).

Honestly, I can not see, why you don´t buy it. I guess it will work perfectly on your system.

Regards

.

Well, if that system cannot make OFF2 graphics to your satisfaction then something IS wrong somewhere.
As a matter of interest, what sim gives you good graphics then.?

And I get the feeling that you don't run OFF or CFS3 at your maximum resolution. FACT- the higherr the resolution, the faster the sim runs- strange but true.
And have you got the core optimizer thingy running ( default in SP3 )
And have you tried just one card - SLI is not always the best option.

Oh, and of course, you weren't running OFF2 on all sliders at 5 were you?
Worst mistake you could make.

I had an AMD 4000 processor, and 7800GTX card and it ran OFF2 in all its glory.

As I say, the problem is your end somewhere. Sincerely hope you sort it.

I am very pleased with the FPS in P3

I have Asus P5N-E SLI, 2gig DDR2 800mhz, Nvidia 8800GT, Intel 6600 Duocore on XP

Getting a reasonably steady 25- 30 fps

4,5,4,4,2 (which suits me fine)

Got a pretty naff monitor though..best res of 1280 x 1024..so, that is getting changed soon

I think I am correct in saying that XP 32 can only make use of 3 gig of Ram?

depends on your system, mine is using 3,5gb. I think it can adress 4gb in total. System ram and v-ram in total for your graphics.

That's nearly true as said above. Mine makes use of 3,3 GB RAM. But unfortunately you can only choose between 2 or 4 GByte so in my case 0.7 GByte are wasted with a 32-Bit OS. And I am not ready to go and buy Vista 64. I will never be :d
