If You Had To Choose Three ???

Flyboy208

SOH Staff
This topic has been here before, or an FS9 aircraft wish list thread posted, but I want to ask you all, name the 3 aircraft for FS9 that have not been modeled to a fully functional extent, and not to detract from past developers ... but given the modern arsenal of computer design software, what would you want to see in your virtual hangars?

My list ... Piper Aztec E , Pilatus P-3 and the beautiful Pucara' Argentine turbine warbird .... Mike ;)

Lockheed Model 18 / C-60 Lodestar
Lockheed R6V Constitution (least likely to ever get done by anyone...since only one was ever built and there is not much to go on to build an accurate model) We discussed the project internally in the Constellation team and really could not find much useful data.
Lockheed Model 75 Saturn (same basic problem as the R6V ... only two were built) http://www.codeonemagazine.com/gallery_slideshow.html?gallery_id=19

Cheers
Stefan

Three that have always been on my mind are:
Tora Zero
Tora Val
Tora Kate
In other words a mixed up mess of SNJs,BT-13s,and BT-15s all rolled into one(or something like that:icon_lol:).

There's so many planes I want to see, it's such a difficult choice. But, if I can only pick three, then maybe:

Mikoyan MiG-31 (I always wanted to see a full-quality model of this aeroplane)
ShinMaywa US-2 (new JMSDF flying boat, very cool design)
Northrop Tacit Blue (I like strange aircraft, and this design always fascinates me)

But the list is so long, I almost can't pick only three!

hmm tricky....

Bucc (S1 and S2)
Hawker P.1121
SARO SR.53

what? ya didn't see them last 2 coming did you? :icon_lol:

Three aircraft that haven't been made for fs yet...
Lockheed Lodestar
Lockheed PV-1 Ventura
Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon

I'll second the Aztec, but I'd like a '67 C model. And I wouldn't say no to a Shorts 330/360 and a GAF Nomad, preferably a N22.

-Certainly a decent Buccaneer.
-Do-24 (Not a cfs2 remake)
-Sikorsky S-61N, HM Coastguard, as I used to see regularly. (India Juliet)

Lockheed L-18 Lodestar
Lockheed L-14 Super Electra
Grumman Goose....I know Bill Lyon's Goose is a work of sheer brilliance...but it is impossible to do good paints on.

OBIO

Difficult to choose, Obio

1. A 'full blown', no-nonsense 'big American four' supermodel; PB4Y-2 Privateer (PB4Y-2 Privateer would probably be my choice), Dc-6, B-17, take your pick, I'm not fussy. They're all beauties!.
(From a personal point of view; four juicey engines to get my teeth into).

But it must be four, supermodel and radial!

2. Yes! Avro Lancaster! And I do mean supermodel.

3. Fairey Swordfish. Same specs as above! Extremely interesting construction; just look at the undercarriage, aerodynamic bracing (not wires!) semi exposed radial etc. Superb flier, enormous potential for textures.
And an unsung hero in fs2004 and X.

edit: but of course it ultimately comes down to what inspires our artists...and they often have some delightful surprises of their own, up their sleeves.

And boy oh boy, do I love surprses!

The Privateer and Lancaster have been done before. By Wings of Power just off the top of my head (have them installed) The B-17 has also been done, Again WoP and by SOH Donationware as well (also have those) California Classics has a very nice DC-6.

I'd go with the Lockheed Lodestar and Harpoon mentioned above. AFAIK, they haven't been done for FS9 yet.

No disrespect

Agreed Willy.

No knocks or disrespect would ever be intended by myself for any of the aircraft you have mentioned or their talented creators.
I fly all of them.

I loathe the his or his kind of comparisons, they're pointless anyway.

They're all good models (Calclassics' Dc-6 is indeed a beautiful ship as I have said many times).

What my day-dreaming implies is the ideal 'Supermodel', by today's standards. Pushing levels upwards, that's all.

Not so unsung in FSX, Flying Stations have a cracking model; and the AS Swordfish is not too shabby but, you're right, it would be nice to have a state of the art model.

I assumed we were talking FS9, hence my Bucc suggestion; Flying Stations have a terrific looking S1 in the works (and strong rumours of an S2), but it would be great to have one in FS9 - ALL of the existing models have flaws, one especially has a very suspect looking nose, the Barry Manilow of strike aircraft.

Let's see
1. Ultimate super duper hardcore An-2
2. Percival Q.6
3. Ultimate super duper hardcore DC-9
