Installing, waiting, or sticking with 2020?

I just went back to 2020 to see if a couple of glitches in the new Super Stearman were 2024-related, and boy, it's amazing how much smoother 2024 is. I'd gotten used to the occasional stutters, pauses, and hitches in 2020, but man, those shouldn't be happening with a 13900K/4090 system. MSFS 2024 has loads of issues, but it's sooo smooth in comparison. Really hoping that this week's patch addresses the egregious problems with 2020 planes and sceneries (pilots, dark displays, etc.) so that I can shift most of my flying to it.

Same as you, I went and tried to load 2020, which was working fine just before 2024 release. It crashed on loading! The ONLY change I had made was loading it and doing some of the updates that had come out, especially for some of the MSMP aircraft since 2024 release. I shut it down after the updates, and went back to 2024. I tried to check if the new GAS Super Stearman would show, as it wasn't showing in 2024. The 2020 sim crashed about 30% loading. Turns out the Super Stearman wasn't showing in 2024 because it was in wrong folder.

What I mostly like in 2024 is the smoothness, and the MUCH improved tire traction on take-off, and much better rudder and tailwheel control! I have not had a single taildragger go off the left side of the runway, yet.
