Introducing the Avia 51

Just good old luminous (And radio active!) paint in those days.

Sure I want it, but I have no performance issues with Fs9 at all.

Well, I can do the gauge backlighting no problem; just wasn't sure it would be appropriate.

We shall see. :)

Were the old luminous applied to just certain gauges or all of them?

used to be key dials if i recall, but may have been all over... element used if i recall was Radium, and yeah it was slightly radioactive :icon_lol:

Avia 156 Changes, Updates and Tweaks Done

The Avia 156 model changes are complete. We are still working with a few panel gauge improvements, a minor interior texture change (Matt?), and some FM tweaks, after which she will be ready for beta testing.

Here is a shot of the VC Rain feature just installed.

I like illuminated gauges, but would that restrict the ability to move a gauge without a light spot left behind?

That rain effect is very nice. Is that in 2-D or the VC?

That's looking the era for sure. I'm liking it!

Sorry Milton, had a hectic past couple of days, just opened it up in Photoshop to a)remove a window frame for the Avia 51 and b) verify there are 6 window frames for the 156 :icon_lol:

EDIT @ 1948GMT : E-mail sent containing Internals :salute:

Thanks Matt. I know you are busy; just a reminder as I forgot about it myself until now.

VC Rain effect.

Yes, the light map is an image of the panel with gauges, the way I do it anyway. Alternatively, an bland light map could be used to be more flexible.

However, I have decided for now that I like the appearance as it is. It's dark enough, yet easily readable for me.

Here is a shot. I am prepared to do gauge back lighting if necessary, but personally, I am liking what I have now.

Hopefully we will complete the 6 panels .... yes six to include two FSX-friendly English and Metric based gauges (thanks to thunder100 for this effort) ... tonight and be ready to prepare an official beta package on Tuesday.

This is going to be a GRAND entrance to flightsim. I really look forward to see the final release get unveiled. And my "Thanks" go out to thunder100 for investing his time to make the panels for FSX. I really appreciate it!!:applause:

(Im-)Patiently Awaiting Beta

As we try to sort out the remaining nuances and await permissions, they wait ... somewhat patiently.

LOL Pete.

Still a very few minor things to correct before assembling the FS9 Only beta package for the 2nd round. I hope to have that uploaded for a select group of testers by tonight.

While that is out, I will be preparing an FSX portover version for an FSX beta release for both aircraft this weekend.
This version has its own flight models, a few different gauges, a few different textures, and effects.
Attached screen shots in FSX.

I will need a few volunteers to test this package. Please speak up here or by PM.

Thanks

I am delaying the beta by a few days as I am reorganizing the gauge and panel setup to simplify and separate the gauges for the 4 panels for FS9 and the 4 panels for FSX. This will keep the aircraft packages self contained and easier to deal with in the future.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for having mercy on us less than computer literate flyers Milton.

From the screen shots it looks like our tours of the Benolux countries will be quite enhanced from now on.

Testing, testing.

Milton, check your email please.

Wow OB! That certainly gives the old panel a 3D look doesn't it. Nice work :)

I'll try what you sent in the sim to see how she feels. Thanks :)

I don't have a clue how to get them into the sim. I've got more ideas, but at this point I'm a little lost. Doing the art work is the easiest part for me :icon_lol:

Keep in mind that what I sent you is a rough work-up ;)

No problem; great start there.

Check your email please.

Milton, I notice that the door handle, hinges, exhaust pipes, and tail wheel "forks" are black on the 156. Can you point me to those areas so I can fix it please?
