Introducing the Avia 51

Early morning photo session - part 2

T
he breathtaking Aegean, near Mount Athos, always a personal favourte backdrop for viewing
such fine aircraft as the pedigree Avia 51 and Avia 156.

Even the Gladiator pilots found it hard to contain their enthusiasm,
Indeed, I'm sure I recognized a 'certain young daredevil's' grin, so familiar here at SOH.

the sheer thrill of flying

Really?

LOL I have the yokes, ECU, pedals, seats, and side panels in place, and finalizing tweaks on the 156.

Still have night lighting etc to do.

have no idea who he's talking about when referring to the Glad... :icon_lol: anyways Great pics Nigel... enjoying FSRecorder after i briefed you in about it?

and Milton.... looks fatastic up front now, really screams 'Fly me!' :salute:

Beautiful work gentlemen. The textures certainly are stunning.

I can't help myself with a certain visual association....the 156 looks like it should have been run on mail-routes from Barcelona to Casablanca. Probably the Hispano mill in the nose creates a face normally associated with L'avions Latecoure.

Very interesting project. The accumilation of talent here leaves me amazed.

The flock is coming together more and more by the day. It's looking great, team-mates! And the sounds are nice to boot!! :salute:

Thank you Oleboy, especially for the beautiful 156 textures. :applause:

Just a reminder to those testing, the panels do not work in FSX as they use default FS9 aircraft gauges from the 30's, plus a few of our Spartan gauges.

I learned this first off. Although the metrics are displayed. I'm in hopes someone knowledgeable will fix the FSX gauge issue.

LOL Sorry, I forgot to mention this to you guys up front.

There is no gauge issue. We are building for FS9. :wiggle:

Since no one volunteered to do the panels and gauges, I had no choice but buy FS Panel Studio and do the panels myself.
I built the four panels for FS9 because those are the gauges I have available. I do not design gauges, at least yet.

I have constructed the panels and VC so anyone can change them easily, and they are welcome to do that.
Why would they not step up to do the FS9 gauges if they would do the FSX side? That doesn't help the project along, and it seems a bit selfish to me. :kilroy:

If I find time among the 7 Grumman aircraft, these two Avia aircraft, and the Lockheed Harpoon projects, I will try to put together an FSX panel set. :salute:

I will take care of those who helped the project along and contributed heavily, like you. :wiggle:

Avia 51 Cabin Atmosphere

Working on night lights to give a nice cabin feel ... not there yet, but progressing.

I created a special effect to limit the lighting to each lamp, now I must tweak its size and direction.

This lighting really highlights the excellent textures that Matt has done for the interior.

It's looking really nice Milton. Very impressive. The more you reply, the more exciting things get!

As for the panel, I get great amounts of gratification flying these masterpieces as they are. All in good time Sir.

Milton, that looks really great.

Romeo-Delta

Thank you RD. The effect you are looking for would require a different bmp than this one uses, more like a beam. I may end up doing that but playing with restriction on the current standard texture for lighting at the moment.

Anything I do is shareable including the gmax source for these aircraft when done.

OB, thank you but I do understand. If I get a chance, I will do the FSX panels but there are other issues on that side to be resolved as well, otherwise, the panel work will be all for nought. :wiggle:

Cabin and Cockpit Lighting

Continuing to strive for improvement but I am pleased with how the cabin lighting is shaping up.

Trying to "personalize" the lighting to each individual seat to minimize "space intrusion" on other passengers. :)

In the cockpit, the lighting is well-subdued for night flying but not as good as gauge backlighting (which was unavailable in 32-34 AFAIK). I will continue to improve on this.

Final Tweaks before Beta Test

I am in process of reviewing overall features and completed works.
In testing of the flight models now and I have a question for you.

Do you want the VC Rain feature for the VC or is it too much load for many of you.

I am willing to hear any and all recommendations.
