Introducing the Avia 51

This airplane is a "breath of fresh air"... I'm normally not akin to flying vintage airliners but seeing the screens, as well as the integrity of "Shupe Aviation", I just had to have a go. What a beautiful model, and the interior... looking at it gives one a warm feeling. The crushed velour seats, the subtile lighting, Those kind of environments had a distinctive smell that reminds me of my childhood. Makes me almost want to be a passenger on the Avia, as much as her Captain.

OK...childhood memories aside, I love flying the Avia too. easy handling, yet responsive. The visual model is stunning, and very accurate for the time period. Sounds are outstanding as well, the 3 engined Avia-51 has one of the most unique sounds of any model I have ever flown in FS. This plane is truely a very thoughtful representation of a time in our history when the "finer things in life" were simple, and we had alot less to worry about. Just my 2 bits. :salute:

Very nice... Very, very nice. Thank you, Milton and Team :medals:

Milton
So, Nigel and I have conspired with some of the locals here in Cheb to rig us up for a fishing trip ... yup!
We're off for a little retreat in BC for a spell. Catchyall later!
.....Holy smokes!! Now we're truly in Noorduyn territory!!

I'm not skilled at paint, but I do have a copy of FSRepaint. One could imagine a black & yellow CF-*** registry on floats. A fascinating story of how it flew south in late '38 to Afrika, lost in a card game, lashed to the deck of an Argentinian freighter, then finally found it's way to the Pacific North West by the early fifties. If there's time, perhaps it may happen.....

From the Columbia river all the way up to the Pan Handle....the place is full of living ghosts. Never be surprised by what turns up with floats. Even planes that never were.

I hear ya! Why, just today I saw one heading from Hope to Tipella ... Fer sure, those guys were goin' fishin'. You could tell by the smiles on their faces.

Milton, any chance i can get the model and a base texture set?... i feel the need to bush it up a bit :icon_lol:

Hey Matt :)

You bet. We need a day or so to finish up the exterior and interior details. Still tweaking the FM too. Thanks for offering :applause:

bush it up a bit... maybe a spot or two of rust, some flaked paint....

some Canadian and Alaskan themed birds will definately be needed...

I hear all of you!
Internet - attrocious, couldn't get up here for two days!

Matt, we're all heading NORTH to Alaska (details from Milton)...Magoo country!

No way to cram all in one ship. Desperately need an amphib bush cargo to haul all our gear!
Looks like Milton is setting us up with an awesome summer camp, so we'll need hefty supplies of everything.

Matt, buddy. Are you truly in on this? Looking forward to some of your 'smooth' texture work here!

I'm lik'in that 56. It's turned out real nice!

Thanks OB, and Nigel for so much invested in this product.

I am working on the FSX side to get the flight models ready and she is looking really sweet there too.

I think adding a touch more drag and this first one of four is ready.

Messin' around in Juneau Harbor and landing at Juneau International.

Nigel? Nudging? i was wondering where my Dynamic hammer, hooligan bar and breaching ram went....

base textures getting there..... adapting my 51 kit to work on the 56, plus grime, rust etc... :salute:

Hi Milton,

I know you are not in the habit of accepting individual requests, but would you ever consider sticking the Tri-motor Avia 51 on floats, or fitting the Hispano-Suiza 12Ydrs on the tri-motor? The inline tri-motor would be an awesomely fast aircraft, I think you would agree, and the 3-motor-floater would look awe-inspiring with it's massive floats - it would give some extra grunt on take-off, I am sure!

Craig. :)

:applause:Wow, thanks Sir Milton for the lovely Avia. Took it up for a flight, beautifully made and nice to fly. Does it normally take off with the tailwheel down? I just couldn't get the tail up and it lifts off all three wheels easily while rolling on takeoff.
