Iris easter eggs!

We need to keep the comments about the CRJ. All other issues need to be handled by PM. Thanks

I've made my stance on this issue to those parties involved. It's not necessary here. I come to SOH for the same reasons as the rest of you.

I would like to say my appreciation for companies like Iris and others who from time to time release freeware to the community. Very nice gesture in my opinion. I'm grateful to have the amazing freeware support this community holds. I consider it the bread and butter of this hobby.

I really hope this thread gets back to discussing nifty repaints for the CJR's.:salute::salute:

Best, Paul

Well, this plane is a nice freebee. Made a fictional repaint for the sentinel R.1 in Dutch colors (still needs a lot of work), and planning on a white VIP version of the CRJ 200 for the RNLAF.

Thanks IRIS :salute:

:jump: Sweet!

Nice to see the repaints coming for these great models!

I like this - a freeware Iris model with the adequate stock VC, so no great learning curve to negotiate. A nice introduction to this class of aircraft for the casual simmer or those, like myself, who have never taken much interest in them. And paintkits too! Thanks Iris.

Yes, enjoying the paints done and posted here - many thanks. :applause: Looking forward to some fancy VIP/private paints for the GEX.

Fooling around with some freeware spare parts picked up at some garage sales for the GEX flight deck:

With 5200+ photos on Airliners.net alone it's certainly a target-rich environment for painters.

I find most corp. paint schemes boring (and they are intentionally so) but there are some interesting ones...
  • Niki Lauda (OE-III) and Caterham (9M-CJG) for the racing fans
  • Pepsico and Kohler - not bland and Kohler's is perhaps one of the best ( it's even advertising)
  • N117TF that looks like a 70's airbrushed boogie van!
  • 9H-FED that's rather plain except for the history (reportedly "detained upon arrival on the Spanish island Gran Canaria (GCLP) by Interpol agents with over 1400 kilos of very pure cocaine hidden onboard.")
  • JCAB (Japanese Civil Aviation Board) Flight Check aircraft
  • OE-LGX - I'm still trying to decipher the graphic on the tail

One of the nice things is that many of the schemes have the wings painted as part of the design. I know it might be a pain, but think of it as another showcase for talent :icon_lol:

Expat, you going to share the 'parts list' when you get it all wired up?

Expat, what gauges are you using please and can you share the panel config or details. That is neat.
