Iris easter eggs!

Iris CRJ-200 Delta

Ready!

crj700.jpg

No, I'm just joking... This is the old Posky CRJ-700... (old maybe, but FSX native). I really hope any Iris CRJ-200 paint or repaint will pop up soon! Mine is really going nowhere... I scrapped it, sorry... Help!

...the Posky model it NOT native FSX.

You're right, the CRJ-700 Posky FSX native model is not available anymore in this Posky Archive web site.

But Hiroshi Higami (ex Posky modeller) did a native FSX conversion of his CRJ-700 at some point. Unfortunatly I can't find the official version, but a repaint I found at Simviation here do use the FSX native model file "OSXCRJ700.MDL" (the FS9 file is "OSCRJ700.MDL", without the X).

Maybe the official FSX native OSXCRJ700.MDL file was lost or not properly archived when Project Open sky closed its web site a few month ago...

CRJ-200, 700, 900, 1000...

Sorry to bump and hijack this thread again... Very nice "Hop!" repaint by Paul Craig for the FSX native Posky CRJ-700, with default VC:

Now back to the Iris Easter Bombardier thread: I'm trying to convince Paul to do a nice civilian repaint for the Iris CRJ-200 and CRJ-900!

:salute:Now that one is a beauty. I am still flying her with CC-130J_AVN's RCAF White while waiting on a USCG 1. My ramp space at KNGP CGAS looks odd and a invasion of the CGAS with RCAF Global's lol.

I threw together a "generic biz-jet" paint for the Global. I'll try to get a screen of it sometime today.

Awesome, Looking forward to it! I don't fly it much at the moment as I have been flying and painting the Majestic Q400.

Still hoping and searching for some IRIS CRJ-200/900 paints

Hello everyone! Like most of the people that are following this forum, I have too waited for a CRJ-200 to appear that was easy on FSX. It's a shame that they did not continue with their model, but at least most of the things are animated and laid out for us to use. I currently run a virtual airline and have been busy repainting our fleet - so I have gained some familiarity with Photoshop.

Though I have never started from total scratch, painting the parts seems pretty easy to do. In the last few hours I have played around with the kit and tried to start on some of the "Easier" things. LOL! So far I have created a texture for the engines at standstill and at full throttle (Please ignore the cowling for now). I have also created a texture for the outline for the window with rivets, but that needs some more work so the shine comes through. If anyone has some CRJ-200 pics to share, by all means share! I hope to continue this project over the coming weeks and to hopefully have a scratch made paintkit for the CRJ-200 by the 4th of July. :USA-flag: Wish me luck!

How is it coming? I hope you're progressing well... Here's a few ideas with very simple, but quite common, liveries...

I'm following this thread closely, since I'm a bit disapointed by some brand new payware airliners. I just want to go back to enjoy simple aircraft with no FPS hit or buggy glass panels... The Iris Bombardiers with default CRJ700 cockpit are just that...

Yummy... I suppose it will use stock CRJ VC?

Is everyone still using the stock CRJ VC in these "eggs"? One reason I was holding off for a good VC or at least an updated one like stock B737 recieved by A. Lucena. I can still sim E-11 BACN flights I guess with the stock VC.

Yes I'm afraid the default CRJ VC is the only freeware option for these Bombardier CRJ/GEX/Challengers... There's a few payware options though...

Here's an idea for a simple repaint of a Challenger 850 (the exterior is identical to the CRJ-200, isn't it?):
