Milton's Howard 500 a fresh look!

Thanks Tufun.

I fly it as well in my FSX.I've been looking for newer paints for it as well.I haven't found any yet.

Do you by any chance have the acft.cfg text entries necessary for the shockwave lights to work?.

I've not tried these settings, but only changed the landings lights in my setup.

light.13 = 5, -1.1, 18.95, 0.02, fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old

I use this setting for landing lights, my preference... I like the bright lights!

light.10= 5, -1.54, -18.95, 0.06, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon.fx
light.11= 5, -1.54, 18.90, 0.02, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon.fx

Sweet! I really like my SW lights, but I always forget to code them for whatever I fly. I really should do (or find) the Connie codes. Muchos gracias!

Take a scenic late evening flight with me!

The N500HP tail is just for show, but I thought it would be cool to see in flight. Don't like how youtube processes videos at times, but it's not that dark in the original. Flown in FSX.

Love where you're taking us, TuFun!

So much more enjoyable than screenshots too.

Umm...TuFun...does this mean you're doing the whole paint scheme??? :jump:

Yep! I received a package with all the necessary items to re-create that paint scheme. It will be different than the ones you've seen before... meaning the latest version paint scheme. ;)

There is a subtle difference I've not seen painted before, which I will do on this re-creation. Soon as I finished H-500C, this will be the next project.

Enjoy every moment of your project - you've earned it! :wavey:

Created a custom exhaust flames effects for the Howard and exhaust smoke that's enabled thru throttle positions based on the MP gauge... 36 HG's or higher...smoke, 35 HG's or less no smoke.
Just learning how to create effects, took me some time to figure it out how to get more than just flickering lights... wanted a flame.. Looking into idle flames and to see if I can incorporate that like the smoke effects. MAAM B-25 has such cool exhaust flames, I had to add it to the Howard. -TuFun

Looking thru the code made some minor adjustments... realistic startup flames and lighter engine smoke above 35 in.

Startup, taxi, and takeoff video.

Closer look at startup flames!

I think the smoke might be a little heavy on start up for a healthy R-2800. Of course, the amount of smoke also depends on how long the aircraft has been idle.

Normal start up.

Smokey start up.

And is it possible to make the start up smoke more of a blue color to simulate oil being burned?

One more, just because I love the R-2800.

I left the fx_Cranky_Howard.fx file as is... only changed the flames effect. But may look at further. Flames and the high throttle smoke effects are the only changes I made so far.

Tufun I was very very impressed with this engine sound in your earlier video in this thread. It demonstrates a very good sound range all the way from idle up to full throttle

Can you say which specific sound pack it is?

Thanks!

"A flight around Skagit Regional, Washington."

Thanks TuFun! Absolutely love the trumpeting of those props on full throttle and then can smoothly make it disappear as you pull the throttle back to cruise. Is like trimming the props for cruise with the prop controls :) Nice sound.

Thanks for the link!

Will I'm studying effects coding... how about a little peek of what's coming on Project H-500(P) TP Howard repaint! Using the cargo version for a template at the moment. With about an 1 hour a week to spend on these projects, if I'm lucky... ;) anyways enjoy the pics!!!
