Excellent, Rick! It is wonderful to see a repaint of Dean Cutshall's beautiful F-100F (N2011V). It has been a regular performer at the Thunder Over Michigan airshow and was a performer at the EAA Airventure Oshkosh airshow last year.

The only other F-100 that has flown in recent years is the Collings Foundation F-100F (N26AZ) - the one currently painted in Bud Day markings ("MISTY 1"), but previously was painted in Thunderbird markings.

BTW, those "Flight Systems" F-100F's, located in Montana, that Mike mentioned, are registered to Big Sky Warbirds - they have four F-100F's in all (N416FS - N419FS). The same company has been restoring a former "Flight Systems" F-86, which is near completion, polished, and painted in "Minute Men" markings (should hopefully be flying this year).

I don't know if this has already been touched on, but here is an interesting warning in the F-100D flight manual, that was recently posted on another forum. (This very thing happened in 1956, when a Grumman test pilot shot himself down, while flying an F11F Tiger, after flying into his own 20-mm cannon shells while in a high-speed dive.)

John, Thanks for posting. Great to see Col. Day back in the cockpit and great to see the F-100 in the air again. Probably my all-time favorite of all the Fighters I had the privilege to work on.

Interesting to see that the ejection seats had been replaced by Martin Baker seats.

Was the 53 in front of the last three digits on this particular aircraft? That is the first time I have seen it like that.

Although it appears that at this time was operated
131st TFG / 110th TFS Lambert Field
SL Red fin band, w / white "MISSOURI" F-100C / D 1962-1979

I corrected number of years
Thanks for the comment!

Zsolt

I mean on the right side of the aircraft, the numbers are always read left to right, the 53 would always be at the beginning, ie on the left.
