An old friend of mine who recently passed away used to fly them over the Hump in the CBI region from 1942-44 keeping Chennault well stocked in ammunition, spare parts, avgas and 'coolie' laborers

The real GPNR has its lines rather straight there, but painting this delicate section is such a pleasure (a huge "Thank you!" again to Manfred for this mapping!), I couldn't help creating a more elegant V-shape...

Not what you would expect from me.......

As I currently work shifted hours, I have some time for my own in the morning. Although I should be working on something totally different, I started this repaint just for fun.

It won't be the recently baptised "Prinses Amalia" (PH-PBA), but a C-47A which was built for the USAAF in 1944 and purchased by KLM in April 1946. It remained in service with the KLM until January 1963, after which it was registered in France. The C-47 continued its life in the West African country Mauritania where it served with the Mauritanian Air Force, after which it was sold again to the French operator Stellair, who had several C-47/DC-3s in service.
On 11 November 1984 it was written off after it had crashed in the desert, close to Tan Tan airfield in Morroco. Due to a sandstorm it had been unable to land and ran out of fuel.

Don't expect the repaint soon as there is plenty work to do and I have very limited time....

This is a great aircraft and has caught everyone's imagination, new skin's are coming out daily, we are spoilt for choice.

Unfortunately, I was a little too hasty when packing:
The rotating prop disk (with the respective yellow tip marking) is missing.
Here's the fix - just unzip to your GPNR texture folder. Sorry for the inconvenience!
 
Black Disc's for props

As I commented yesterday ....... very nice !

Have encountered a problem with the download , installation went as per normal, but I have black disc's for props when the engines are running ??

Is it something I've done wrong ?

I realised what had happend, so I used the one from one of the other yellow tipped props in one of the basepack textures, it worked o.k.

Huub, I love how your "candy wrapper" KLM paint is coming - those 50's era schemes are superb.
