New C47 from Manfred Jahn

You like it clean, Manfred?

Well, it seems like the Hay River rampies have spent a lot of time polishing this one here:

Just some decent exhaust marks on the lower wing and beneath the cowl flaps:

Some very profitable deals Joe has made recently were sufficient to get her six fancy new Hamilton Standards:

Up soon!

Cheers,
Markus.

fandamtastic C-47 boys - most appreciated! :salute:

Wild Bill - that C-46 in your sig makes me wish we had one of those on a par

An old friend of mine who recently passed away used to fly them over the Hump in the CBI region from 1942-44 keeping Chennault well stocked in ammunition, spare parts, avgas and 'coolie' laborers

Thank you Manfred & Co for this fine model

Very nice detailing on the props, Markus !

May I borrow on a futur upload (post WWII) eventually, with credits given, naturally...:kilroy:

Cheers,

Fleurdelys

Thank you, guys! :salute:

I sincerely hope nobody minds the artistic license I took concerning the nose cone's cheat lines:
The real GPNR has its lines rather straight there, but painting this delicate section is such a pleasure (a huge "Thank you!" again to Manfred for this mapping!), I couldn't help creating a more elegant V-shape...

@ Fleurdelys:
No need for any credit - I've found this Hamilton logo in my virtual spare part box, and to be honest, I can't remember where I've borrowed it from ... maybe here?

Not what you would expect from me.......

As I currently work shifted hours, I have some time for my own in the morning. Although I should be working on something totally different, I started this repaint just for fun.

It won't be the recently baptised "Prinses Amalia" (PH-PBA), but a C-47A which was built for the USAAF in 1944 and purchased by KLM in April 1946. It remained in service with the KLM until January 1963, after which it was registered in France. The C-47 continued its life in the West African country Mauritania where it served with the Mauritanian Air Force, after which it was sold again to the French operator Stellair, who had several C-47/DC-3s in service.
On 11 November 1984 it was written off after it had crashed in the desert, close to Tan Tan airfield in Morroco. Due to a sandstorm it had been unable to land and ran out of fuel.

Don't expect the repaint soon as there is plenty work to do and I have very limited time....

Cheers,
Huub

Manfred: This one is especially for you! Hope you'll like it.

Hi Markus,

Thank you for the Buffalo, it,s made my day.

This is a great aircraft and has caught everyone's imagination, new skin's are coming out daily, we are spoilt for choice.

Again many thanks for al your hard work, right now back to flying the Buffalo.

Regards

Bruce.

Thanks, Bruce!

Unfortunately, I was a little too hasty when packing:
The rotating prop disk (with the respective yellow tip marking) is missing.
Here's the fix - just unzip to your GPNR texture folder. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Black Disc's for props

As I commented yesterday ....... very nice !

Have encountered a problem with the download , installation went as per normal, but I have black disc's for props when the engines are running ??

Is it something I've done wrong ?

Cheers for now.

Hi Markus,

I realised what had happend, so I used the one from one of the other yellow tipped props in one of the basepack textures, it worked o.k.

Thanks again

Bruce.

Woot! WBK - That RCAF paint is looking superb - definitely will make me get that model!

Huub, I love how your "candy wrapper" KLM paint is coming - those 50's era schemes are superb.

thanks to all who've provided us with the great model, fixes, and paints!
