Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

You're likely going to hate me for this ....

I'm running away now ... :)

DL

Ah....you can run.....but you'll only die tired....;)

It's difficult...cos typically the NASA is on a tail, not a wing....but when there's directional logos/text they tend to be the way up I have them....eg like the Aussie roo's feet point towards the fuselage...not the wingtips....and the nose always points forward.

But...if you 'must' I can swap them easy enough....it's a simple mirror.

/me now goes off to kick something....;)

Edit...

I turned them round....but now [of course - sod's law] I'll HAVE TO do the same with the Serial Nos.......

I suggest you keep running.....;)

Well, actually, there's something else .... :kilroy:

J/K. It's excellent - looks superb - nothing left to say.

As things worked out, I'm going camping for a number of days - if I don't comment until next week, it's because I won't be able to download.

Fantastic work - thanks for your tireless patience.

Regards,

DL

Am going through the motions of creating a separate layer for.....rivets....making up a quasi-theoretical [artist's impression] of what 'might have been'.
It'll probably take forever....as I really need to research 'similar' aircraft in detail......for ideas.....

Dumbed down to 25% they're not 'annoying'....and a matching trans detail creates a fake 'bump map'....[sort of]....

Though my friend (an ex marine helo pilot) had a lot of input on the blue / yellow paint scheme as shown below, I still managed to surprise him by adding a #8 aircraft at the last minute. It's the only one he wants to fly now.....:mixedsmi:

The #8 aircraft should ruffle some feathers among the old school Blue Angels establishment.....:icon_eek:

Tommieboy's paint shown in #44 was what got me all inspired and eager. It was/is a superb bit of graphics/styling....and has been the one that got me trying the high res repaints....

While messing with a layer of rivets I found mine wasn't 100% symetrical. The axis of the top was 3 pixels out...and the bottom was 2.
There's a few bits that make it all 'interesting' but I decided to assume the beacon lights top and bottom were on the centerline and set everything from that [other than the canopy which is in a world of its own].

This is where it's at..... [no rivet layer or weathering - yet another idea].... but even the tiny text is legible...stuff about grabbing a ring...pulling it out 6 feet to jettison canopy...etc...;)

But it's the original styling that makes it work...;)
