Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

The Avenger II is ostensibly a 'stealth aircraft'.....so....

That's just blank 'pink' loaded into the layers ....;)

That reminds me of PAPADOC's "pink flamingo" repaint for ED's Su-27 flight simulator.....

I loved that flight simulator, but got tired of flying over the same old very limited area of Russia.

More repaints that I found sitting in my repaint "trash bin" gathering dust......

This image below was user requested mod; he wanted the red / white stripes removed from my RAAF repaint. In retrospect, the user had a better eye for design than I did at the time. I like it......now; it's clean and simple. Now I see what he saw.

The image below is based on the P-51 Mustang - Millie "G"; I didn't get to far with this one.

The image below was based on the template that I use for the Millie "G" as shown above. This was one of the my first RAAF repaints, but I never warmed up to it. It looks better now that it has been sitting in the trash bin for quite a while.....

Tommy...the first one looks a little too plain.....maybe I just like stripes..... but that third one is cool.
Asymetry is always preferable [it's an Architectural thing]...though back in the seventies it was "Black is Architectural"....we were always humming...."I see a red door and I want it painted black...."...;)

Looking at it again...is the junction between light and dark actually a curve or is that the model perspective?

Edit....it's perspective....
couple of clicks and.....

The first one has really grown on me; I have reloaded it into FSX as one of my go-to repaints.

The second one (the Millie "G") was shelved because of my lack of exposed metal painting skills. Now that I have completed my Martin Mars Barrier Reef Airways repaint I have a better understanding of what is involved.

The last one does look a lot better to me now than when I originally shelved it.

Camo....again Vietnam-inspired/vintage.....slowly getting all the 'bits' into individual layers.....

Both of those Vietnam-inspired/vintage repaints look cool; especially the camo......

Just one thought though.....Like your X-15 repaint, the 777 / JJ occur at both wing tips, and it might look better??? if you flipped the text at both wing tips so the text reads up right when face outwards. It's a tough call with the shape of this bird.

Looks real good......the only thing missing from that repaint is the smell of sweat in the cockpit.....
I wonder if there are any Vietnam U.S. airbases for FSX?

Jafo,

I'm going to release the two RAAF repaints that are shown on the previous page after all. It's that or trash them for good, as I have to clean out my hard drive for new stuff that I want to bring on board. I tweaked the one with the white wing tip just a bit and I like what I see now. I think it can now hold its own against the red / white RAF repaint that I previously released.

As far as the Millie "G" goes, I may take a crack at this one with some exposed metal skin, now that I have the Alphasim / Virtavia Martin Mars Barrier Reef Airways repaint under my belt. That might take a while to figure out this one though.

Tommy....looking forward to those...;)

Here's the Chiefs 335th with the TAC logo and serial turned around.... kinda starting to agree that's the way to go with them....

I quite like the metal finish now I'm using the mottled trans from the Dorito...;)

Vapor effects??? Must be monsoon season.

I've also used photos of clouds for my mottled trans effects too.
