I received notification today from Vertigo Studios that the F9F patch 1.2 was available for download. After downloading and installing the updated version(after uninstalling version 1.1), I started up FSX and gave it a good test. The new simplistic tailhook operation allows the hook to be retracted and reset for relaunch off the catapult and going around for repeat trap without the need to reset the flight. The VC hook controls are generally the same and most will find this setup very favorable for FSX AI Carrier use.
However, one issue still exists(and I know Dean is going to cringe at the sight of this text) but the misplaced left aileron tab was not addressed on this patch. At the risk of becoming a pariah for some, I had previously & publicly stated that perhaps since the Left Aileron Trim Tab being misplaced wasn't as visible as the Right Trim Tab misplacement(which the latter was fixed on the previous patch), the need to fix it was perhaps optional or simply not needed. However, if a user is using Track IR or using standard FSX pan views to the left when moderate to hard left aileron inputs are made, the trim tab misplacement is glaring.

Now to be very clear, I DO NOT want this to be viewed as a "bashing statement" nor others pile on over this particular unfixed bug. Dean has been through enough headaches with this without the need for any further to be said in offense on the matter. I do however state in defense of Vertigo Studios and the F9F product that this issue however minor or major it may seem to some, it is one that personally I feel does detract from an otherwise superb model and the issue should be addressed not necessarily to put behind the past headaches of this model between company & customers, but more so to do proper justice to the final quality of the model. I feel strongly that once this issue is fixed, there would be no other flaw or bug to be concerned with on the Panther.
