This package contains alternative textures for the FS2004 Spitfire PR.XI by Chris Lampard and Shessi. The textures show the Spitfire MB948 from 14th Photographic Squadron, 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group from the US Eighth Air Force USAAF. The Spitfire MB948 was officially assigned to Capt John S. Blyth, however the reality was that just about every pilot in the squadron flew it at one time or another. The aircraft was badly damaged in a landing incident at RAF Mount farm on February 18 1945, while the aircraft was flown by Lt. A.N. Nix, who survived the incident unharmed. The aircraft was considered too badly damaged for repair and was stripped for spare parts to keep the other Spitfires of this unit operational.
To use these textures you must have the Spitfire PR IX/XI package by Chris Lampard and Shessi installed. This package can be found in the libary at Sim-Outhouse.org. The main textures (SPXI_1.bmp, SPXI_2.bmp and SPXI_3.bmp) are done in 16-bits format, which should make them usable for the CFS2 version of this model as well.
I want to thank Chris Lampard and Shessi for this lovely model and Martin Wright for his great graphic tools which were used to turn my drawings in something which can be used in FS2004.
Enjoy,
