• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

AS F-4 Phantom

Jafo, really want to thank you for your persistent hard work on these panels. Gives the old AS birds - another - lease on life. Great stuff!

I guess the next thing is to compile them into uploads...gotta check to be sure 'everything' is included...as I also set them with AB effects, etc.

First one I'll up will be the last...this RF one...as it's most complete [having improved over the other packs]...once that left Radar [Generic Radar v.1] gets a settings-access pop-up...;)

I'll have to have a look...if it's sufficiently 'different' to the one I did then possibly yes.

It's all about suitable images and the 'adaptability' of the built-in VC within the model....;)

Edit...

That one's model uses the other panel [not the 2 radar ver] which is essentially the shape of the one I did for Pack 1..... unless I can dig up some photos/info as to where it's different...otherwise that one would do...;)

I'll patch it over and see how it looks...;)

Gray Eagle.....yes, thanks for that [lot more reading to do]...;)

Pack 1 had the 'B' ver....that was the first of the AS F4s I played with....having started via the Cloud9.

Edit...

Oh, great....Pack 3 does it different...in both the twin AND single radar varieties.
Porting the 2D is fine...but again the VC needs reworking as the drawing method is different to pack 1. Heaven knows where the logic is in so many different VC patterns...;)

I've found a really good photo of the FGR-F4M panel....it means an almost complete redo from a 'B' ....but it's on its way...;)

To give an idea just how much needs to 'change' when dealing with built-in VCs [not ones you can swap out] .... here's the result after an hour or two of setting up a background panel bmp...;)

The gear, flaps and trim panel at left is the only part that's the same as the RF4-E ver ...;)
 
The VC is coming along...but it has some quite different gauges that I need to hunt down...the fuel flow, fuel quantity and exh temp ...all different to the other F4 vers.
If I can't find them I'll have to 'make' them myself....;)

Got a suitable temp....and an ideal RALT...will probably make my own FF. - still looking for the fuelQ....;)

About as good as I can get it....other than adding a shadow below the guard...
Did my own gauges that weren't close enough...so the VC is done...now to transpose it all to the 2D...;)

This is an F4-M or FGR [near enough]. The AOA left of hud is ok...but there shouldn't be another panel at right - not from what I've found....

They all look mighty sharp. I'm interested in knowing when and if the cockpit for the NAVY F4B will be available? :redfire:
 
Essentially I took it that there were 4 different panels/models in the 3 packs....one each in the first 2 and 2 in pack 3.
I may have to load every individual model/vc to check, but what I've done [so far] is an F4-B for pack 1, F4-E for pack 2 and both the RF4-E [2 scopes] and the F4-M/FGR of the RAF for pack 3....as some of the models' VCs are 2 radar style....models 1,4,6 and 9 ...the others being singles.

It's all a bit 'confusing' as the packs have had revisions/updates over time...;)

If there are more specifically different VCs modelled [and I find them] I'll do reworks for them too...;)

First one I'll upload will be the 'M' [as it's most recent/complete]...;)

While awaiting approval/s I'm back on the RF4-E panel... rechecking gauge versions 'match' documentation/photos I have - again looks like I'll be doing some of my own from scratch...;)
