awwwwwwwww niiiiiiiiiice......i dont think it really maters to me (see abut the others) of which style tank is used...i would like the one the sis-Q tankers used since they are the ones that were used mostly out of GVATB,BUT..ive never paid attention to the backside so i dont know...lol...makes no diff to me as im not a "rivit counter".
i want to say..these F7F tankers could not land with any retardant in them at all or the gear would fail ( could) so they jettisoned it before landing,there is a rock faced cliff near the nevada county airport that is now covered in plants just from the retardant.
they would also land main gear first,and do a long roll out on the mains ,,nose wheel high off the runway..then set it down last minute and then turn into the tanker base.my dad ,to this day says they were showing off for us..but Mr Mason told me they allways did it...lol...
