I like the ships down there in the Channel… what Addon are these coming from? As FS9 usually doesn’t provide Ship traffic.

I’ve seen several scenerys for FS9 that included ship traffic. It uses water ports. It was definitely in the Bermuda scenery by Freeflow (if I’m not mistaken).

There a was a ship traffic in Belgium and The Netherlands. But there are same ships moving up and down Chesapeake Bay. From altitude it finally makes no great difference whether they are moving or remaining static with animated wake effect. Besides that the static version offers by far more possibilities and variations.

It's Belg7000 v 2.3 + ANTWERP PORT VERSION 2 by Johan Thiers. By the way, ships are static but are a nice touch for the eyes.

For example: Tongass Fjords, FREEflow Bermuda, FREEflow Bahamas, Misty Fjords, Flight Riviera, HongKong Kai-Tak, Saint Maarten TNCM,
German Airports 3, Scotflight Scotland.

I meant the basic FS9 does not provide any ship traffic…

Clearly some addons do but without having addons installed, there’s no ship traffic… other than in FSX for example…

Another Great repaint which i do appreciate very much… only downpoint, are these yellow touchups on the nose which irritate me… don’t know what these are… but might be some touch ups with Zinc Chromate before repainting as the Paint chipped or simply an issue with the Alpha Channel or something… haven’t yet figuered that out.

And compared to the Real Deal: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8441903 the white / or grey “139" at the Rear is missing. Other than that, pretty cool.

I took off from the Roosevelt CVN-71 (AC09) and flew 100 miles NW to the (Abby*) USS Reagan CVN-76 (AC20) for a touch-and-go/low-and-slow fly by then back home again. This is kind of like a formal Hand-Off ceremony when one task force relieves another, but the weather just stinks if you're thinking of doing anything fancy.

Some un-confirmed news says the USS Lincoln (which I'm shadowing) is heading to Bangkok for some R&R. I have some nice U-Tapao (VTBU) scenery to park-up for a week of mayhem and I have some older carrier scenery for Thailand I can install but it looks like spending some quality time near the Gold Coast of Oz is out.

Its been another productive day.



Since I got skunked on the Gold Coast, I set up some temporary Carriers for Thailand.

AVSIM Library

Flight simulators premier web site. Freeware, forums, community; it all comes together at AVSIM.

At the bottom of the page you'll find Thailand_Aircraft_Carriers.zip by Martin Strong.
This is OLD scenery so forget about adding or fixing the AFCAD or adding AI.
Still, I can use this carrier off the coast of Phuket to launch and fly out to U-Tapao, its about 100 miles.
There's another carrier near Pattya but its way too close to land.
Both of these carriers have a hard deck, basic comms and navaids, just no ILS.
Install was pretty easy, all I did was rename the main folder to ThaiCVN then drop it in my Addon Scenery folder in FS.
Here's a quick look at my CFG entry:

Like i said, its OLD so there are no flatten BGLs, and you don't need them.
No ID to automatically drop you on either deck, but you can locate the ships kinda easily, just look for the VOR and NDB on your MAP and drag your airplane on top of them. One carrier is south southeast of Phuket Int'l and the other is due west of U-Tapao.
