FS9 Xtreme Evolution: beta testers wanted!

All of them...back up to locked 50fps

Well who would have thought that one file would make so much difference ...

In that case I recommend everyone use the new file - there is hardly any visual difference up close, in fact I believe that it actually looks better form further away - more bushy!

Cheers,
Sascha

It's all gone very quiet around here.

Dave

Lots of activity going on in the background, though ;) I'll make an informational update and upload some tweaks over the the week-end.

I am mostly working on doing US and Europe autumn textures right now.

Cheers,
Sascha

Promised update

While working on the fall textures, I fixed some issues I found with the summer textures. You will find the updated files in the updates_2_3Nov2013 folder in the BETA_2.0_EVO directory of the drop box.

Mostly I improved colouring in desert, grass and swamp textures, improved blending and added some detail while I was at it. I have also collected some previous updates into the zip files. Just drop all files into the directories indicated by the zip file names.

Now for some news: I have finished fall forests and cities, also most of the snowy winter files. The field textures are taking longer because I decided to make new master files with layers for all fields so I can simulate proper vegetation cycles. Lots of fields to do! This will save time however for spring and non-snowy winter. See the screenshot below to see this in action.

Cheers,
Sascha

Found it ...

I think I identified the texture set causing the green desert bug in some set-ups. I will release a hotfix asap for this, I will need to adapt a few other textures to avoid blending issues but this should not take long. This is the last open issue I have on my list!

Regards,
Sascha

Hi all, it's nice to be back here!

For those who missed it - in the meantime, I uploaded the hotfix (and some additional tweaks as usual) to the dropbox, and posted the news over at avsim: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/408107-how-did-this-guy-do-it/page-4#entry2849364 , also pasted below.

I will upload another update over the weekend, while I am beavering away at the seasonal textures.

Cheers,
Sascha

Hi all,

the sim-outhouse is still down so I'm posting here: the promised hotfix for greenish deserts and more updates are now uploaded to the drop box. You can find them in the BETA_2.0_EVO directory. The update directory is called updates_3_12Nov2013.

Please install the files into the directories indicated by the zip file names as usual.

Detail screenshots of fixes and tweaks can be found here: http://forum.avsim.n...n-for-fs9-evox/

Thank you for your continued interest and help!

Sascha

Another update ...

... this time mainly to European and US fields, plus some other tweaks as usual. The zip file can be found in the BETA_2.0_EVO folder in a folder called updates_4_18Nov2013. Install paths indicated in the zip directories as always.

Bit tired so just 2 screenshots, first in EnNgland, second Germany. Will take US screnshot tomorrow.

Regards,
Sascha

Drat! When did THEY appear again? Were they gone before the last update? I see that I mistakenly added two autogen files (010h2su1 and -su4) to the last update. Please delete the whole set and tell me if they are gone!

Regards and thank you!

Hi, I notice that the pics by Navtech still have that weird blue-green tint in the urban areas. Is that how it's supposed to be?

Good. I'm not a fan of that urban blue. If you get a chance, would you mind posting an urban pic without the EBN whatever that is? Thank you.
