Yes the camo was gloss finish, I think the powers that be thought speed was as important as concealment and you’ll get less drag with a glossy finish than a matte one. Also, just like in the game, everything always looks shinier in the hangar.
I’ve chosen a less glossy appearance for my liveries so they look a bit sun faded.

Still experimenting with this one as it used the later camo pattern style, with the other style of demarcation between the upper and lower colours that split the intakes. While I've tried to be as accurate as possible with the early style camo liveries featured above, some liberties had to be taken due to mirroring of textures and limitations with the decal files. The upper colours on '614 below are still the earlier camo pattern, I have to see if the later pattern is possible.

Ok, first one available, 21189 of 1 (F) Wing, RCAF Station Marville, circa mid-to-late 1950s.
Here's the actual aircraft at the Air Weapons Unit, Decimmomanu AB, Sardinia, being used as a target tug for gunnery training. Note the 419 squadron CF-100s sharing the ramp.
...and in the hangar at Marville, with a natural metal T-33, an Expeditor, and three Sabre Mk.6 aircraft.
As I said before, the camo pattern is based on the "official" pattern but no two aircraft were ever painted identically, also the camo is as accurate as I can get it keeping in mind some liberties had to be taken due to the limitations imposed on this aircraft model due to the texture and decal mapping.

Thanks! If anything it’s been a real motivator to learn how to use 3D painting software like Blender or Substance Painter… the best way to describe the 2D process is that it’s like trying to paint a camo pattern on a plastic model aircraft, before assembling it, while all the bits are still separate and scattered around on the sprues, orientated in different directions. If there’s a bright spot, it’s great spatial relations training

Early sixties camo T-Bird after the switch to the "RCAF+3" style of markings. My Dad flew this one a few times, including the last week he was at Marville after his F-86 tour ended, before being posted back to Canada. Slight changes to the rescue markings and the camo pattern to match period photos.
Lined up for take off on runway 30, with 441 squadron's dispersal in the back ground.
Left turn out for the downwind leg, showcasing my awful attempt at scenery making in MSFS. Generic buildings used from the scenery library.
On downwind. Upper left dispersal was 445 squadron (CF-100s), upper right was my Dad's old hangout, 439 squadron (Sabre Mk.6s), and the lower right dispersal was 441 squadron (Sabre Mk.6s).
Parked in front of the tower on the main ramp.

Starting on the natural metal finish upgrades. Finally got around to drawing the access panels for the GPU on the right aft portion of the wing fillet. It looked silly having the stencils for the electrical hook ups just sitting there for no reason. Had to draw the panels on the decal files because iniBuilds used one texture for the fillet, mirrored on both sides. The rivet patterns on the model aren't exactly the same as on the real life aircraft and unfortunately the game draws the rivets over top of everything else, including decal files... so the panels are as accurate as I can get them position-wise, just ignore the rivets that are drawn over top
I've added some more tweaks, once I get all the natural metal skins upgraded for 2020 and converted for 2024 I'll go back and update the painted liveries as well.

Hah. Yeah, I'm not sure why the pilot wasn't showing in the Blue Angels plane. Airshow Assistant is both awesome and super-frustrating at the same time. My hope was to do a full formation of your RCAF liveries. But there was only one listing for T-33, and it was the Blue Angels livery. Looking forward to his 2024 update, which is supposed to actually scan the files and include everything, vs. him having to have a built-in database of planes and liveries.
