LOL guys. I have been working through a long list of things on the "156"; two more left to do and then most of those changes must be moved to the "51".

Once that is done today, I will move inside to see what I can do about the interior cabin. I keep dragging my feet there as I am hoping for more "revelations" from the "Republic". :)

Can You Identify This Prop Insignia?

This is on the Avia 156 prop. Anyone know what it is? Who makes it or where I might get a better prop picture for texture?

Hello Milton, Nigel is right. I am pretty sure it is an Avia logo. Avia have made props for many years and still do. Nice photos, thanks for posting.

In my resource hunt I found it. I sent you a link several email back to the prop logo. No need to dig.

I also have hand drawn one if you like (not the one above my text)

Nice work OleBoy.

I try to grab everything relevant in my searching efforts. Only thing is that the logo I made is for the side of the aircraft. The logo on the prop blade is far different. I've been looking all over for a front view/prop on any early Avia that's even a little more legible. Something I can make out. I would then re-draw.

oleboy you'll have to whip that paint over to me so i can port over some of the metal effect and see how it looks in FS9 and on the -51 , then if it works well i can retrace my panel lines, put the rivets back on and bada-bing bada-boom we'll have layered masters for the -51 completed :salute:

Oleboy, that is looking good.

I have reshaped the prop, yet again, and remapped to an existing texture.

Will send shortly.

At this point, I'm sure that the metal texture has to do with my bloom settings and shader 3.0 files. Take notice to Miltons latest prop photo. I'm sure it will display on everyone's machine differently. Meaning FS9 to FSX comparison.

Concerning the textures I am currently working on, the thought did cross my mind when I started (and after I noticed the direction you were heading with your rendition) to (once I get the 156 complete) transfer my textures to the 51, and do that one also. I don't mind sharing my templates, but all my work is more/less photo-real aside from the logos, lettering, stripes, etc. Beyond that you have the same templates as I do.

Alrighty! :salute:

Note (Milton); I do plan on doing bump mapping (Is this possible within your model program for use in FSX?) for enhanced appearance if I can.

thats kinda what i meant pal, using the photoreal elements you have to trace and create a master set from for the -51 as the only real difference is the wing engines and the in-line in the nose....

Although gmax would allow adding the bump maps, the exporter would remove them.

An FSX developer would need to rework the model for FSX native.

I will make the gmax source available when done.

When I get all finished I will give you the flattened overlay so you can ;)

Alright. I figured that's what would happen. I had my hunches.

It's almost finished

Some graphics and a little bit here and there to finish it up. That is, unless something unforeseen comes to play. LOL!
