John and Albert
here are a few of the things I have noticed in the few hours I have been toying with the P51C.

1-the action of opening the side canopy windows requires an opposite action to perform the function. i.e. I have to push on the yellow lever to open the side vents then I have to pull to close. which leaves the little fist in the opposite direction of the lever. i.e. the little fist is all the way forward as the window slides backwards, and all the way back as it slides shut.

2- same thing with the oil cooler door switch, in order to open the cooler door I have to pull the little fist rearward to open and push it forward to close, the opposite of where the toggle goes.

3- I tried to add autopilot (as the radios are modern versions) and that S*C*R*E*W*E*D* the cfg up big time. I actually had to reload the mustang as FS9 would not play nice.

4- I was wondering if it is just me, or is it that when I switch one light on all switches move, the same with the individual arming switches. Kind of thought those would be single actions.

5- and of course the inoperable Pitot switch which is already being addressed I believe.

6-seat height and distance. this was one of the things I tried to address in the cfg at the same time as the autopilot. OOPS.. I only wanted to be a little closer to the gauges. Is there a seat adjustment lever I have missed??

7- will there be updates to bring even more functionality to this product? would love to have adjustable radios etc.:jump:

8- now on a good note. AWESOME!! fun, fun, fun galore. I am hoping that Warbirdsim, and John will appreciate our feedback on this wonderful addition to simming.

9-I am pleased I made the purchase, I have great hope that this product will evolve and leave me going ''WOW!! that was AWESOME!!"

I am just hopeful that they will not forget about FS9. I would hate to see them fall into the trap of FSX only planes.

wonder if we'll see this beauty on our new Pony..?

Already made, with a unique model matching the look of the restoration...I couldn't help it after having had the opportunity to climb on it for the research I needed. :d

I hope to make it available in the not too distant future, once the FSX versions are done, though I cannot make any promises.

LCBORDEN, I will try to reply to these as best as I can.

1,2 - I believe that this is a known issue with FS9 animations. You'll notice that the default cowl flap switch also requires reverse dragging. While seemingly a little odd at first, it doesn't take much to get used to them.

3 - The reason why adding the autopilot messed up the aircraft.cfg file is because of the same reason why any editing at all will harm the .cfg file at present.

4 - There are a number of reasons why some sets of switches move with the click of only one. For one reason, the recognition lights only have one set of code, as do the navigation lights, so switching on one of them will switch on the others, same goes for the arming switches. At times, due to a glitch in FS9, turning on the cockpit light will also turn on the nav lights, and visa versa, which is in no relation to this product.

6 - There is no seat adjustment from within the VC, although you can use the default FS9 keys just the same. The viewpoint itself was settled on as being the most accurate position. I usually fly with the cockpit zoom set at .50-.56. Using Ctrl+Backspace will get you to move forward in the cockpit, which helps during take off and landing.

7 - I can't comment on this as of yet, one way or the other. As it currently sits, it has a more functional/accurate cockpit than any other P-51 released before, which I am very proud of.

8,9 - I am so glad to hear it! There may only have been three or four days that I can remember over the past year, that I didn't spend time either thinking about the plane, researching it, or creating it. Every expression of enjoyment is deeply felt on my part!

"Hi all,
anyone can be so kind to tell me if there's a repaint kit for the P51?
thanks" .............sigmatau.

sigmatau, it usually helps to answer this sort of question if you take the time to read the entire thread.

:banghead:

hummm, yes, you're right, but look: that post was inserted on 8th november an it said also "More details this week."... :ernae:

Bomber....is there any chance you mnight add to an update the following?

1. chocks for the wheels
2. Belts on the empty seat
3. paper fuel tank option
4. making the pylons go away with the fuel tanks

Active cam will solve that problem :)

I used the Notepad++ application recommended by Warhorse47 (post#111) to edit the aircraft.cfg file and it worked OK. I'll try and add an autopilot tonight.

Download Mustang III

I purchased the Mustang III download about 10 hours ago and I haven't recieved an email with the link to download. How long did it take you fellows to recieve an email back? The website said 2 to 7 days. I can't wait that long. I want to fly this aircraft today on Rememberance Day. Thanks, Tienmac.

There's also a freeware program named F1view by FlightONE software, you can download it here (750k). "This small module installs into FS2004 and supplies simple mouse-based movements, panning, and more, using the center mouse wheel/button. You can also move past the default view limits of FS2004. This module works on any aircraft. After you download, please make sure you read the full instructions included".

Bye

;)

Bomber, there is one minor light switching item I noticed last night.

When performing a cold start at night, I would turn on the landing, nav, recognition and cockpit lights in that order.

When I turned on the cockpit light, it would turn off the nav lights. Basically I had to go back and turn the nav lights on a second time.

Best to have a wheel mouse. F1 is great for those who do not want to buy payware camera proggies, but you will find it takes lots of scrolling with the mouse wheel to get the desired result. Still, better than nothing!

As for model updates, I am sure in due course there will be reason enough to add some more items to it. I have noted the suggestions. Currently I am battling time itself, between school, support for the FS9 release, and finishing the FSX release. Finally turning 21 yesterday, I was able to unload some stress in proper fashion, that only those who are 21 or older can do legally. ;)

WH, that is actually a problem you will find with just about any FS9 aircraft...it is a glitch in the FS9 engine itself. It is annoying.

Ahh! Congrats on being 21. I turned 21 in the service at Eielson AFB. Had a hell of a night.

Regarding only doing things that 21 year olds can do... I hope you wore protection! Wait, are we talking about the same thing?

Regards, happy birthday. Many more happy ones to come.

Can't wait to get this bird. I'll be patiently waiting the FSX version. Probably get boxed.

Cheers!

Happy Birthday John. I turned 21 on night patrol in VietNam, so never really got around to ringing in that birthday. Hope yours was excellent. And as was mentioned above, Hope you were responsible. But had one heck of a lot of fun.

the issure with the seat distance was I just wanted it to be a bit closer to the panel permanently. I have a dedicated pov switch for moving in,out, left, right so that I can line up landings and taxing. I just wanted to start each time closer to the little numbers.
