I cannot find the KW P1y1 you used on your skin entry. Do you have a copy of the KW P1Y1 aircraft you could send me? The ones I have are the upward firing models.

Just been to this page:

The download links seem to still work for me, but he doesn't seem to have a valid email address.

I recently tried to contact to get permission to upload the modified mdl file plus some static objects, but got it bounced back by the ISP.

So I'm not sure how long they will still be around for...

Thanks! It works fine. The file works. Added source to internet list.

Part of the reason for butchering Dave Garwoods Anson was to depict some of the versions used by the RAAF

Hi Uncle Tgt
Looking good.
The Ansons were used as trainers in Australia.
Flying does involve accidents.
There is a memorial for this one in the lower Blue Mountains near Sydney.

There is another in Victoria from a patrol accident in 1944

Then there was the pair which landed safely, locked together, with no fatalities after a mid-air collision.

Hi John,
Really nice choices, have a soft spot for ol' Annie. Didn't know they were used with radar gear on, I take it was to help with beacon location when flying out over the vast featureless oceans?

Very nice tex work, many thanks.

Cheers

ps. And hey what's with this weirdness of losing all shine/sheen from these models (and others)!? Just look at the second photo of KD's post, shine and sheen on the top ac and sheen on the other....;)

Aww man, I though I was doing so well, & you point out I hadn't finished by adding Shine to the models...

Still struggling to understand GMax material types & settings well enough.

I seem to go from flat to super-shiny with the smallest changes in the material values.

In a lot of cases I'm resorting to setting the Shine after export by using Allen's DOSmdl v2 "Shine" batch files. In most cases its a camo aircraft so having all the parts with the same satin sheen is OK.

The only thing I'm losing with this method is getting really glossy glass on a camo aircraft.

It seems that trying to change the gloss setting with MDLmat doesn't seem to change anything much if a mdl was made using GMax???
