SECTIONF8 Sabre released !

Here's another paint for the SectionF8 F-86. Another from the 336th FIS, 4th FIW. "The King/Angel Face and the Babes" flown by Col. Royal V. "The King" Baker. Col. Baker had 13 kills, 4th on the list of top scorers.
I've a couple of touch ups to do before I upload.

I gotta say... I'm lovin' this F-86!

Mike

Been waiting for that one...significant aircraft belonging to the pilot with most kill credits of all.
Good paint.

Hello from Bavaria

I downloaded the F-86 this afternoon, added the skins and the JA-111 and took it up for a spin over my bavarian home...what a dream!!! A truly piece of art. The F-86 must be among the 5 greatest jets ever built and Jan's team for sure did her justice.
Now my wish list:

*F-86A in the "Jet Pilot" livery (FU-190)
jetpilot4story.jpg

*a Janet Leigh pilot figure
janetleighpotd.jpg

*all of the "The Hunters" liveries
*a really good Korean Airfield of the early 50ties

A quick note to Markus's JA-111, I believe the "Richthofen" patch was not on the planes when JG-71 was formed but added after they were "combat ready" and the name Richthofen was given to the Geschwader. Once one the planes it should be on both sides though!

cheers
Uwe

PS: Jan, what is next? ...a Super Sabre, a new F-8 Crusader and a new F4 Navy packet would be really cool...

Based on what was stated earlier, he/they (SectionF8) plan on modleing all of the Sabre variants, such as the F-86D, the CAAC Sabre, the Canadair Sabre (With the Avon), F-86H, etc.

Hi nightshade,
Bananabob is supposed to be working on it...
I'm sure it will be worth the wait (just as was the base pack!)

Thanks for the compliments, Uwe ! :mixedsmi:

Re 'what's next? ' : Sundog is right, we'll stick to the F-86 and most of its derivates for the moment ( which will probabely keep us busy for a decade or so... :d) . In addition to what Sundog already stated the F-86A will also join the family ( probabely included in the first follow up package along with the hard-wing F-86E/F and CAC Sabre ) as well as the Fury sailors.

Here's a WIP screenie of the first draft of a CAC Sabre with enlarged air-inlet.

Why don't i stick that Janet Leigh piccie somewhere in the cockpit.... :)

Great stuff Jan (as always), but to my eyes that RAF 'target':costumes: looks an 'A' type (from the 1920-30 era), not the later post war type, with equal amounts of red white and blue (unlike this one with more white).

Trev, 'CAC' was Larry Wacketts' Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, 'dununder',
methinks the paint is not historically accurate,as the Aussie 3 Sqn CA-27's didn't (to my limited knowledge) ever engage a Mig in anger, although they were at Butterworth
during the Malayan incident....

here's what it should look like ---> http://www.rudnei.cunha.nom.br/Sabres%20and%20Furies/CAC%20Sabre/cacsabremk31a949233sqnraaf.html

I'm not sure when the Aussies adopted the 'roo in the middle of their 'target',
I've seen a couple of pictures on t'web of the early 1950's with the RAF style one though.
